Guys, we will soon start another contest, but we have something new for you in the following days. We are thinking of implementing Leverage Bankroll investments, meaning that the investor would be able to choose the risk he wants.
Can you explain this a bit more ? I have never seen such an implementation in any Dice game accepting investments BitVest offers leverage. It's basically a way to increase your investment size without needing to deposit more. If I invest 1 BTC at a 5x Kelly, my simulated investment would be 5 BTC. Basically, it lets you increase your risk for more profit, or allow you to invest more with less counterparty risk. In this kind of leverage investment, either we can make more profit or can lose more money if a site doesn't make a profit for that period. It is similar to leveraged trading. I know leverage trading is quite dangerous and one may lose all money in short time, if don't monitor price movements closely, but in casino investment, I never tried this method yet. Yes correct, increased risk for increased profits! This kind of leveraged casino investments are interesting to try it out because sometimes we can make big money with small amount and it is almost like a gambling but have a better chances of making money if site got a huge traffic because most of the gamblers are going to lose and only some people will win in gambling. |

It's worth mentioning that if your goal is maximum bankroll growth then following a simple Kelly criterion (1x) is optimal. Using a larger value actually decreases your expected bankroll growth and can even result in negative expected bankroll growth, despite all individual wagers having a positive expected value.

It's worth mentioning that if your goal is maximum bankroll growth then following a simple Kelly criterion (1x) is optimal. Using a larger value actually decreases your expected bankroll growth and can even result in negative expected bankroll growth, despite all individual wagers having a positive expected value.
The thing is gambling sites normally do not allow 1x. The closest you can get on PD for example is x1.012. On KINGDICE the maximum win chance you can bet with is 98% so it gives you x1.01 but never 1x. The Kelly strategy doesn't work for gamblers otherwise they would be all rich. |

Sorry, I should have been clearer: My comment was addressing the investors, not the gamblers. "1x" refers to the simple Kelly criterion, not going for a 1.00x payout. For the gamblers all wagers have a negative expected value. Consequently, the Kelly criterion will also always be negative, which means the optimal strategy–in terms of bankroll growth–is not to bet at all. |
