Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

As such a symbol been decided yet ?

If not, I would suggest a drawing of a key, with the two traditional vertical bars for currencies.

The reason is that since the graphic provided by Satoshi is so popular, I would prefer to stay true to the original design.

Until we have enough people to voice out for the concern, I think I'll stick with the original for now if that's ok.

Thai baht symbol has one line, Bitcoin symbol has two.

Very good job. I think the B symbol would look even better without the serifa.

I am ethnic Chinese. I can see why you thought I might be a Japanese. 招き猫 is in fact Japanese. In Chinese, the character is similar (招财猫) except for the middle character. I thought I'll put in the Japanese character just for fun since Maneki Neko originated in Japan, not that I speak any Japanese at all.
