I would not be so harsh, gold and silver are both good investments and stores of value, but it will be better to pay fiat instead of bitcoin, since bitcoin can be used to buy almost anything imaginable online.

we have to move forward from digital goods with Bitcoin because if more type of products are sold online with bitcoin then popularity of Bitcoin will grow tremendously and Bitcoin users too. But there are still many problems for example if items are not good as expected by the buyer than the business should show their loyalness and should refund the Bitcoin to the buyer.

At this point in the life of BTC you can purchase anything with a BTC VISA card.

The only difference is if you want complete anonymity you would need to partake in a system without records and send from fresh addresses that are not tied to your paper trail in any way.
