Netflix Series - Inside Job: Part 1 Episode 4 @about 14mins in Brian Bot says he's going to go on Reddit and explain bitcoin to people
Thanks, I am not sure, do you mean "Netflix- Explained # Season 1 Episode 5 "Cryptocurrency"? Because this documentation is already listed in the overview. ' South Park: Post Covid' special (set several decades in the future) mentions Bitcoin at 10:02 and (as you'd probably expect) not in a particularly flattering way. A motel reception worker: Now, of course, we only take Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency 'cause, you know, it's the future. We've all decided centralised banking is rigged, so we trust more in fly-by-night ponzi schemes.
Thanks, added to the list! Found video snipped on Youtube about the scene 1. Blackhat - A Hacker based movie where hacker used BTC as their payment method. 2. Hacker - There they also used it. 3. Unfriended Dark Web
Could not find any hint on the web that Bitcoin is mentioned in these movies. Can you provide more information like where it is mentioned (at what point in the film) or do you know any Youtube clips? Sorry, i hardly check old message or login to bitcointalk. Movie name - Hacker Used bitcoin - watch from 41:15 ( Movie link ) Movie name - Unfriended Dark web Used Crypto - Movie partFor blackhat i don't remember the seen. Have to watch the movie again. Thanks a lot for providing more detailed information! Could confirm both! Added them to the list
I have processed all reports by the end of 2021. The rest will follow shortly.

Bitcoin is mentioned in the first episode of the second season of The OA (Netflix) series when a woman whose missing daughter comes to a private detective to ask for help - and when asked if she has money, she shows a mobile wallet with 30+ ETH, and a friend of the detective explains that it's something similar to Bitcoin. Thanks, added to the list! Bitcoin is mentioned in the first episode of the second season of The OA (Netflix) series when a woman whose missing daughter comes to a private detective to ask for help - and when asked if she has money, she shows a mobile wallet with 30+ ETH, and a friend of the detective explains that it's something similar to Bitcoin. yep confirmed: 00:04:46 She wants to know if you'll help look for her granddaughter.
00:04:48 She got any money?
00:04:58 What is that?
00:04:59 Ether.
00:05:01 What's ether? Is that some kind of, like, digital currency? Is it like a bitcoin?
00:05:10 She was getting it on her phone.
00:05:12 It's basically virtual money, but...
00:05:14 ...it says here she's got $31,000.
00:05:18 Then why is she homeless?
Was about to ask in which part of the episode this mention takes place, but you've already answered the question directly! Thank you very much! There are two small references to bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the movie "Don't look up" on Netflix:
1:16:45 --> someone in the background just shout "Buy cryptocurrencies!" 1:21:54 --> one character says, off-camera: "Not bitcoins. Ratcoins..."
Can you specify more in which season and episode the mentions take place or is it a movie? There's a new, really well made, German documentary: Human B (2021), The Insight Journey Into The Bitcoin Rabbit Hole | Youtube | VimeoI didn't see it mentioned in the original list in this thread, so I'm sharing it here. Absolutely recommended. Thanks a lot for the report and the good preparation of the links Added it to the list!

And it seems that you did not take into account these mentions in the Apple series 'Ted Lasso' (maybe my posts were a bit unclear): - S02E09, at 25:05 : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1650522.msg58140106#msg58140106- S02E12, 15:45 : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1650522.msg58156121#msg58156121

confirmed subtitles: 00:24:14,124 --> 00:24:20,878 You won't touch my phone. Within seconds, you'll have my mother's maiden name, all my cryptocurrencies. Not that I have any.
confirmed 00:15:30,305 --> 00:15:34,434 Daddy, with all due respect, isn't this decision too important to be left to the universe?
00:15:34,518 --> 00:15:41,984 The universe has always put me on the right path. The universe told me to marry your mother and to buy Bitcoin in 2009.
(and dont worry about giving merit. save it for the other people that contribute. i dont need it)

I am watching Gold, a movie with Zac Efron, set in the near future, and there is a great reference to Bitcoin at 8:15! Two characters are listening to the radio while driving and we can hear a journalist saying: 'Bitcoin is currently trading at 1.25 million US dollars. Leading charity cryptocoin, Avatar Eclipse, contributed another one million in aid to the Northern Territory caught in the crossfire. It's now trading at 2244 US dollars or 14,500 Yen.'I love that they decided to go with 1.25M$/bitcoin I am guessing the year must be 2030 or something. Makes sense that a movie about gold should have at least one good reference to Bitcoin Will update this post if I spot another reference. The movie is available on the streaming platform Stan. Thanks RemsJack for the report and clear explanation! Added it to the list! And also thanks for your offer to help me with this thread. I sent you some merit for it! Also I added all the remaining reports to the opening post!

A new documentary is out on Netflix, with a lot of Bitcoin in it: Trust No One : The Hunt for the Crypto King
It is about the exchange QuadrigaCX and its founder, Gerald Cotten, who died suddenly in 2018 and took keys to $250 million in cryptocurrency assets to his grave.
I have started to watch it. Has anyone seen it yet?

Crypto is mentioned twice in the series Billions, season 6 episode 10: --> First at 11:30, when one character explains the concept of DAOs: "DAOs are Internet-native organizations collectively run and owned by their members. Or should I add: "an exclusive pipeline into crypto"?" --> And then at 16:41, when we find out that Mafee is the ultimate hodler of sort "What about your million in crypto from Axe? You must have arbed it ten, fifteen X. Where's it at? - Don't know. - Don't know how much? - I don't think about it. - What the fuck does that mean? You didn't think about how much you could have made with a million bucks of free electric lightning on a drive? - I didn't. - Mafee, you could have turned that 15 times, 20. - Okay. - Okay? It is very much not okay. - It is with me, and it's my money. So I left it alone. If I had gotten in the game with gifted coin, with something that just landed in my lap, I would have started obsessing, you know me. I would have tried to figure out every single possible move until no other move was possible, and then figure it out more. It would have owned me, instead of me owning it. And I don't want to be owned like that. - I don't understand how that can make you happy." One of Billions writer must be into crypto I guess

BTCitcoin is mentioned at 17:18 in Billions S06E11. "Crypto" is also briefly mentioned a couple of times in the same episode (30:12, 32:13).

Ok, so the episode 12 of Billions season 6 is named Cold storage and is about... a drive full of cryptocurrency, yep The device is actually at the center of this episode's plot. I really enjoyed it. The writers named the wallet "Iron Forge" (nice), but in reality it is a GridPlus Lattice1, a type of hardware wallet I did not know about: https://gridplus.io/products/grid-lattice1In the episode they manage to (SPOILER ALERT) crack it (even though it has a self-locking feature) in a few hours (whaaaaaat ) and it contains approx 150M$ in crypto. And then there is more! But I wouldn't want to ruin the series for you, so... I will stop there. It's the last episode of this season and I think it's safe to say that the people behind the series are definitely into crypto. I must say I was kind of bored by the show at the beginning of this season (always the same story, over and over, of Chuck, the Attorney General of New York, trying to prosecute some rich guy, first Axe, then Prince) but somehow the series writers manage to find something new and interesting to give us. Just my 2 cents about Billions.

the man who fell to earth season 1 episode 3 right from the start its mentioned subtitles 00:00:32 --> 00:00:58 Uber owns no vehicles. Facebook creates no content. Alibaba has no inventory. The world is shifting from tangible assets to digital convenience.
That is why I'm here presenting this idea to the panel, today. We've developed an app to bring the $10 trillion derivative industry to the block chain by the year 2018, with our half percent fee charged on collateral deposited in our smart contracts.
00:00:58 --> 00:01:05 May I ask you to pause it for a second? So using your app, I take my 100 Bitcoins and pretend it's Apple shares?
00:01:05 --> 00:01:06 - Yes. So, it's a bit like in trade.
00:01:07 --> 00:01:11 Yeah, you're planning to launch other asset classes, yeah?
00:01:11 --> 00:01:14 I guess it wasn't clear from my presentation.

movie: Eraser Reborn (reboot of old arnold schwarzenegger movie: eraser) doesnt mention bitcoin specifically, but the whole premiss of movie is a woman stole a seedwallet engraved into a material. and she had to go into witness protection because everyone wants her dead to retrieve the wallet. several mentions of wallet, cold wallet, seedcode, cryptocurrency example 00:59:41 --> 00:59:44 The cold wallet you stole, where is it?
00:59:46,124 --> 00:59:47,125 The what?
00:59:48 --> 00:59:49 You were never gonna testify, were you?
00:59:50 --> 00:59:58 You just needed a passport, so you could escape. Cash out, take off, no matter who got hurt or killed.
00:59:58 --> 01:00:02 Okay, I never used the wallet. I knew they'd trace it if I tried.
01:00:03 --> 01:00:04 Where is it?
01:00:05 --> 01:00:22 Back at Rachel's house. I hid it. Okay. I'm sorry. I've had to lie my whole life. It's hard for me to stop.
01:00:23 --> 01:00:24 Save it.
01:00:27--> 01:00:37 I've heard about these, for cryptocurrency. Unhackable, offline... Cold.
01:00:36 --> 01:00:37 Kosta used it for bribes.
01:00:37 --> 01:00:45 Polycarbonate. Looks like metal. This is how you got it through airport security? How much is on this thing?
01:00:45 --> 01:00:49 I don't know yet. I swear. I haven't had a chance to check.
01:00:54 --> 01:01:03 Seedcode. It's 24 words Kosta chose. Impossible to hack. Cold wallet's like a locked mailbox. Cash can't go in or out without a key.
01:01:04 --> 01:01:06 And you deleted the seedcode?
01:01:07 --> 01:01:13 I thought it'd be an insurance policy. - Keep them from killing me.
01:01:14 --> 01:01:16 - Till after they torture you, Rina. How could someone access this money?
01:01:16 --> 01:01:19 I need a secure network, very secure.
01:01:20 --> 01:01:22 The 24 words, where are they now?
01:01:25 --> 01:01:26 Jesus.
01:01:26 --> 01:01:29 The seedcode, the words, write them down, now.

"Cryptocurrency" is shortly mentioned in The Lost City, a really bad movie with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, at around 23:35.

@franky1 Netflix I get but surgical masks? Stocks for them really went so high? Why isn't Bitcoin #1? Much much easier to get BTC than to get stocks,,, but I guess maybe in america it is easy to get all those stocks from mobile apps rather than get BTC from Coinbase or something huh. Nice share

Will this new Simpsons prediction be as accurate as the others? If that's what they claim in The Simpsons, then there's no need to doubt it, given that one of the creators obviously has the ability to predict the future very well.
