...with your wallet. Can someone confirm this is a trojan with a virus scanner or something?

Didn't run anywhere. Been trying to get it to work on my Windows7 64bit box but no luck. I have a WindowsXP box but has a weak nvidia card in it so not worth it. Not sure what the issue is exactly, but was hoping to get in early, not looking so good now

kaspersky says nothing but I was just curious because it never loaded a blockchain I wonder if it's just redirecting our work to it's creator's pool, mining litecoins for him, and sending bogus messages about finding blocks. I don't see how it can be real without a blockchain download.

I do believe it's clean. Decided to leave it running for a while inside a VM, and lo and behold, it ended up connecting to the network after all. I saw a bit of suspicious traffic, but ended up just being an attempt to bootstrap itself by connecting to the #mincoin00 channel in giraffe.heliacal.net. Also attempted to do a bit of mining, and even though Reaper was claiming they were all stales, the debug.log file suggests some went through. I can put up the log file if anyone's interested in having a look at it, though.

Seems to be adding up a bit.

still a blank prompt
It works like bitcoind, you'll have to open up a command line and send commands to it to check what's it doing, the executable's prompt will remain blank. You could also check if there's any trace of a blockchain in "%appdata%/mincoin". In my case, it's indeed connected to... some network, and downloading blocks. In fact, I mined a few, but they were all stales, according to the debug.log. BitcoinMiner: proof-of-work found hash: 000000c4da2c6226ebdc762c5d42211f17de1789d1536d45c0be15fb74d0def1 target: 000000ffff000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 CBlock(hash=36360a26303e4c13d5dc, PoW=000000c4da2c6226ebdc, ver=1, hashPrevBlock=4d6ecdddd9856ab273b3, hashMerkleRoot=d9e7dd0930, nTime=1364958312, nBits=1e00ffff, nNonce=1080362816, vtx=1) CTransaction(hash=d9e7dd0930, ver=1, vin.size=1, vout.size=1, nLockTime=0) CTxIn(COutPoint(0000000000, -1), coinbase 04689c5b510103062f503253482f) CTxOut(nValue=50.00000000, scriptPubKey=033dacce7ae6c3ecff6ce51c4b84c9) vMerkleTree: d9e7dd0930 generated 50.00 ERROR: BitcoinMiner : generated block is stale
I'll just poke this around for a while longer, then I'll just go back to mining Litecoins. EDIT: Finally generated a valid block. Though, I'd still probably check the code thoroughly and compile from source, instead of using some random executable in a .zip file :p BitcoinMiner: proof-of-work found hash: 000000be3e5210d1d5119ba86fdda33d1d2cf7510a56b9dd75d80f375a7c004f target: 000000ffff000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 CBlock(hash=db60713d08da1541cee6, PoW=000000be3e5210d1d511, ver=1, hashPrevBlock=29ea7a52650b27963943, hashMerkleRoot=73044f8d15, nTime=1364958696, nBits=1e00ffff, nNonce=181536064, vtx=1) CTransaction(hash=73044f8d15, ver=1, vin.size=1, vout.size=1, nLockTime=0) CTxIn(COutPoint(0000000000, -1), coinbase 04e89d5b510101062f503253482f) CTxOut(nValue=50.00000000, scriptPubKey=033dacce7ae6c3ecff6ce51c4b84c9) vMerkleTree: 73044f8d15 generated 50.00 keypool keep 4 AddToWallet 73044f8d15 new connection timeout SetBestChain: new best=db60713d08da1541cee6 height=2921 work=5423317824 date=04/03/13 03:11:36 ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED

I was mining as if it were Litecoin, and it worked. Most will be stales, but any "accepted" shares will be indeed a whole new block found

*To encourage early adoption block values for first 3 days are :- 500 MNC, 100 MNC, 50 MNC Shouldn't you have generated 500 coins that block?

With 1 minute blocks, 60 * 24 = 1440. When I started to mine, the block # was ~500. Blocks were flying by with the very low difficulty. Apparently now with the retarget, we're on day 3. Difficulty is too high for my laptop cpu .

I guess that makes it a pretty epic premine, then.

Nope this is the first day No, day 3. The block reward is already 50. Let's play calculate the premine! 1 block/min First 24 hours, 1440 blocks at 500 mincoin each = 720,000 Next 24 hours, 1440 blocks at 100 mincoin each = 144,000 Only 10 million mincoins will be made How generous of the authors to give themselves almost 10% of the total money supply in the first 48 hours!
