Disclaimer - I'm a (very) patient Auroracoin bag holder Smiley

As some of you aware, "The Pirate Party" in Iceland got a big chance of winning the election this Saturday
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirate_Party_(Iceland)
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/26/iceland-election-could-propel-radical-pirate-party-into-power

This party is Pro-cryptocurrency; they promise that bitcoin will be a legal tender.
In the case they will get elected, do you think there is a chance that they will consider Auroracoin as a possible tender as well?

Frankly, I prefer that they do not win considering their leader. But, yes, that's probable that they do something for it.

Seriously Auroracoin  Cheesy I thought it was a scamcoin and died ages ago.

Not only it wasnt a scamcoin, Baldur delivered everything he promised
at the airdop I think about 40k Icelanders claimed their coins & the unclaimed coins were burned. beside that - it was the biggest pump and dump the crypto world have seen Smiley

Regarding their "leader" I'm not familiar with her... I guess I have to do some reading (I know this party have links with wikileaks)

I do NOT support AUR the coin.

BUT, i have already pledged my support on TorrentFreak when they posted this news a week ago.
My Spoetnik Disqus account uses the Pirate Party of Canada Flag i modded black for many years.
There is Pirate Party chapters or what ever you call it in many countries too. (look at Wikipedia)

https://torrentfreak.com/pirate-party-on-course-for-historic-election-win-in-iceland-161023/

My Disqus account name is the name of a file sharing mod based on eMule i made around 2003.

..and a 50% premine which broke records back then John  Cheesy

Lets just say that did not go over too well with the community.
They rightfully compared that level of obscenity to RIPPLE / XRP

EDIT:

Oh i almost forgot ..or was not going to bother bringing it up.

The setup / plan was for sale by the AUR team and co-opted CoinMarketCap

These guys designed the coin to launch with a top 5 market cap on purpose.
They knew damn well it would instantly be coin no. 3 or 4 or what ever then that would sucker in the crowd.
And it did !

It shot up to $14 a coin instantly on Cryptsy.

Far in advance though of getting on CoinMarketCap or any exchange this info was FOR SALE $$$
I know i seen the topic here in ALT-Main and convinced the guy to tell me about it.
He did and i still have the PM's from him.

AUR = Scammy operation.

And Gliss from CoinMarketCap was implicit in it all and played dumb calling me names.
I had suggested back then put an asterisks or something on the coins like AUR premined badly etc.
He called me a Troll etc along with his supporters on his topic in ALT main..
Later he went quiet and waited until i wandered off then put Asterisks on his site that are still used to this day
..courtesy of Spoetnik taking the wrath for daring to even suggest it in the first place.
A byproduct of Spoetnik's trolling "FUD"  Cheesy

I never did get my deserved apology and i never again used that site except for more recent checks on ETH prices.

coinmarketcap can be a misleading and dangerous place to noobs to crypto. It is quite a powerful manipulation tool for devs and pump groups.

I seem to have some distant memory of this coin.

Wasn't this the "Air drop" coin that turned out to be a huge P&D scam?

LOL i wonder if you will get guys playing along again like the last time you were screwing with them Cheesy
All these guys around here lined up to lecture you a while back.. not realizing they had been duped ROFL
I could probably even say this and they would simply ignore / disregard what i just said and lecture on at you..
Nothing like being lectured by opinionated noob accounts hahhahah

And it's not the post count that matters it's the quality of the comment.
So NOOBS saying "smart" stuff ..you got my ear Wink

And clearly we are not all on the same page as this.. we all never get along 100%.
There is no way i can support AUR ..not happening.

If the Pirate Party started to support cryptocurrencies then the big beneficiary of this will of course be bitcoin. Aurora coin not so much. I do not think they would want to get their reputation smeared for supporting a likely flawed cryptocoin project.

They might support development of blockchain technology but I doubt they will give support for a specific "coin" except for bitcoin which is the most widely accepted and the most proven.

I think I remember you from back then...
you threatend to destory the coin or something, what a douchebag Cheesy

and no... it wasn't a scam. Baldur Odin (the coin creator) delievered everything he said he would and 40k icelanders (out of 300k) claimed their coins)
some whales used it as a pump and dump to make a fast profit.
I still think the idea behind it is great.

why flawed? Auroracoin is better distributed with the Icelanders then Bitcoin plus it is based on litecoin rather then bitcoin.
Although I would still think bitcoin is a better option for them as it is a bit more stable right now

Many of the views and beliefs presented in this thread are based on some old and indeed wrong information.

Auroracoin is now a serious real-life adoption project coordinated by the Icelandic Auroracoin Foundation:
http://aurarad.is/

Please refer to the Auroracoin Foundation thread on BCT.
It is useful to start reading from here:

AUR was the first billion $ blockchain and I thought it was the biggest scam (or p&d, or both) in history, when the price reached $90+ and it was heavily dumped about a month later. I bet that this Baldur made plenty of money on it.

You take a guess or an assumption
anyway, if he made money of it was based on mined coins not on pre-mined coins

Yeah, sure. Then why he disappeared shortly after the dump? I am almost 100% sure that he's still here, but using a different nickname.

Hmm, I dunno maybe the quote from Balduro the AUR creato himself can shed some light?

There are more holes that were never fixed.

Every coin using 1 block retargeting should take note. BCX has correctly identified an attack vector that an attacker (like himself) with enough resources could exploit. We will indeed have to make appropriate changes in light of this.
note: I only pointed out the flaw and nothing more. Others figured it out and reigned hell on most KGW coins at the time

Also quit claimng "40,000 Icelanders got AUR" because that's completly wrong.

40K wallets recieved AUR from a massive 50% premine, that much we agree upon.

What happened was the fanboys drove the price to $90 per coin in a frenzy while the DEV team collaborated with an exchange owner RealSolid of mcxNOW fame to cash out.   <----

Crypto may be good for Iceland, but AUR isn't the one.

Just an opinion.
