someone with a R9390/x R9290/x RX480 what performance od you get at stock clocks?
The stock R9 390 does about 30H/s. You can reduce the memory frequency to save some electricity. |

r390 working with that... but at radeon sapphire 8gb 480 i get "clGetDeviceIDs"
for open CL set -P 0 instead of -P 1 I'm curious about this. Is there a performance difference between open cl and what is the other option? are both cards in the same Rig ? this might be why if so either leave out that setting and not use it. or use it like this . there is a readme in the folder with version 0.5 but i don't mine helping .  . from the readme --gpus,-g <x y z ...> set gpu(s) -g 0 1 2 3 ...
--plat,-P <n> set OpenCL platform id -P 0
forgot this my bad
- --plat--P paramter is useful for systems with iGPU enabled or mixed AMD/Nvidia GPUs.
by default the software miner should auto detect , and all the setting needed are on by default and non of the setting are needed but are there for future use and to play with for fun and to have . |

readme in the folder says like this but it is on by default . --krnl,-k kernelname set kernel(s) -k zec - --krnl/-k parameter can have multiple parameters. This will launch more CPU threads, each running a miner with the specified kernel. For now, only dual (or more) zec is supported, i.e. '-k zec zec' |

Processor is an AMD Sempron 145. I know it is slow but didn't think anything faster was needed when graphics cards are doing the mining. Was also trying to not use as much electricity with this processor. Anyway, so I need a faster processor? Unlock the other core if you can. One of my all Tahiti rigs uses the same CPU, and it was a real slowpoke with this miner until I realized it was the CPU holding it back and I hadn't unlocked both cores yet. That machine is now mining much faster. Not a problem on my Intel rigs, though the 7 card rig isn't mining to its full potential yet. I suspect that one could use more CPU as well - it's a mixed Tahiti/Hawaii/Pitcairn rig. Incidentally, that one is more stable with 0.4.2 than 0.5. 0.5 will mine for a minute or two and then the cards drop out one by one. I just did a fresh rig, moving all my card from the old E2160 to the "new" 145 cpu rig and I'm going to OC the cpu to 3.5 and see if there is any improvement otherwise I am considering grab a 6300 to support those GPUs and I guess itself can hash about 14S/s |

Probably not anytime soon. https://github.com/Genoil/ZECMiner/issues/22Marc is already working on adding stratum support to his equihash solver, so that may happen before JW does a Linux port. I've been looking at the kernel as well, and may take a shot at implementing stratum support if it looks like Marc gets delayed in his work. |

I have a GPU Miner (with 5 modded Sapphire RX480 Nitro+ 4GB) hosted using Windows + Teamviewer to access it.
Unfortunately beside the fact that it does not run stable (GPUs stop hashing after short time, one after another) the whole system gets unaccessable after closing the Genoil-Miner Window.
The only chance I have to access the system again is to power off the whole miner (LAN outlet) and power it on again. Any idea why the systems crashes that bad after closing trying to close the window?
I would like to test around a bit and maybe get it more stable with running on lower intensity...

Stability is possible with strap modded RX480s. Got a 6 card rig and a 3 card rig and in nearly 20 hours only one of the cards stopped mining.
Running on a 7x 290x rig also, getting around 210 sol/s, again, in nearly 20 hours only one card stopped mining while I was at work today. It has been 100% stable all through the night, so at least 8 hours, no idea when during the day one card decided it had enough. And they're all overclocked, so it could have been that as opposed to the software.
Awesome work Genoil, this miner is a dream for some of us.

I'm aware of the nicehash miner since genoil still mention Nvidia on his github i just put a legitimate question.
Thats all and OpenCL is not AMD exclusive..omg

You mean "perfect" No I mean perfect without "", It has been working for over 16 hours with an average 105 sol/s (3x470 8gb), no crashes. modded or stock bios ? stock bios Phenom 965 3.4 GHz and 8gb RAM |

This miner and fast but makes you nervous, loses hash of a card for no reason, you can not stand every 2 or 4 hours always restart the miner

Also a couple other oddities I noticed, and the first is probably known already, but the hawaii cards are only hashing about 50% faster (if that) than the pitcairn even though they have over double the resources (exactly double ROPs/TMUs but with higher core clocks, and exactly double the memory bus, but with higher memory clocks) The second is that when I start the miner it doesn't use any physical RAM (maybe a few hundred MB), but it uses about 7GB of swap file...even with the swap file turned off! (In the example image I had it on but with a 2GB cap, but the result was the same)   EDIT: Oh I forgot to add that cards #0 and #2 seem slower than card #1, even though they are all Hawaii cards with the exact same clocks. The difference is that those two are in PCI-Ex1 slots, but card #1 and the Pitcairn(#3) are in PCI-Ex16 slots. Could the PCI-E bus or the CPU be causing a bottleneck? (CPU is a 3.7GHz Thuban and I set genoil process to above-normal priority. No other programs running other than firefox and afterburner and a couple other low-resource background ones.) |

you planing on releasing linux binaries?
Probably not anytime soon. https://github.com/Genoil/ZECMiner/issues/22Marc is already working on adding stratum support to his equihash solver, so that may happen before JW does a Linux port. I've been looking at the kernel as well, and may take a shot at implementing stratum support if it looks like Marc gets delayed in his work. I hope one of you guys finds a way to reduce memory usage, I would love to try zec zec zec or even zec zec zec zec :-D |

This miner and fast but makes you nervous, loses hash of a card for no reason, you can not stand every 2 or 4 hours always restart the miner
you are right, it made me very very nervous |

sometimes the miner shows 0 sol/s, sometimes it shows connection error, sometimes miner stopped and window disappear. What can be done to solve these ?
Please tell me a way so my miners restart if there is any error at least

Also a couple other oddities I noticed, and the first is probably known already, but the hawaii cards are only hashing about 50% faster (if that) than the pitcairn even though they have over double the resources (exactly double ROPs/TMUs but with higher core clocks, and exactly double the memory bus, but with higher memory clocks) The second is that when I start the miner it doesn't use any physical RAM (maybe a few hundred MB), but it uses about 7GB of swap file...even with the swap file turned off! (In the example image I had it on but with a 2GB cap, but the result was the same) EDIT: Oh I forgot to add that cards #0 and #2 seem slower than card #1, even though they are all Hawaii cards with the exact same clocks. The difference is that those two are in PCI-Ex1 slots, but card #1 and the Pitcairn(#3) are in PCI-Ex16 slots. Could the PCI-E bus or the CPU be causing a bottleneck? (CPU is a 3.7GHz Thuban and I set genoil process to above-normal priority. No other programs running other than firefox and afterburner and a couple other low-resource background ones.) when i start getting those strange errors after a warm reboot i have to do a cold reboot rather then a few warm reboots to wipe the memory and clear the connection and that can be problem for some if the miner is remote or off site and you can't restart it unless you have it set some how to start up after a power off or that doesn't work then your wtf till you can get to it . |
