The second to the top is I consider as the most popular alt coin, currently ETH reached another good amount and a lot of holders of it are really happy about it. And for the next on the list is LTC and XMR.

I think nowadays popularity change with the trade and mining profit. 1 month ago, it was Etherium thanks to big price increase. 1 week ago, it was Gnosis (with 5 min. ICO)  Today i think Ripple, Litecoin and stellar. Especially about Ripple there is much news which can manipulate the price of XRP easily. For tomorrow? We will see...

So far Litecoin now was leading on top of the altcoins in crypto base on the volume of bitcoin average but still

I don't think that there is any scale to choose a particular coin and say that is famouse in all coin , And it depends upon the users of the users to users community network whether they are looking in which coin .
In this current time for me the best altcoin and also a famouse altcoin is cloack coin and bitconnect coin because these are those two coin which are discussing in my friend circles and also people are investing as much as they can , But opposite of this these two coins will be useless in your opinion because you have not heard much about these two .

I do agree because many gambling sites are accepting this doge coin to play online gambling. But the value is very less not increasing. Is there any assurance that this coin will go up in coming months then I will buy and hold. Because I don't like to lose money to invest in now famous coins.

For now I think th most popular altcoins is ethereum. Its appearance can be seen all over the altxoin discussion. A lots of people are talking about ethereum being a threat to bitcoin but it is not. brother the Doge based markets are just now budding out, they will bloom, BOOM, and bear great fruits.
why?  trading fees.  BTC based markets are expensive to play in.  Doge markets are fun and easy to play.  Fractions of a penny.

I would say both measures are terrible as a measurement of popularity.

For me, popularity of an altcoin is based on the support of its community. Ethereum has the most followers plus the devs continued developmentof his altcoin. You can't be popular if you don't have followers.

I agree with you ETH is a popular coin number 2 after BTC. All ICOs currently use ETH coins, if you look at marketcap now eth is at the bottom position. It's time to buy as much as you can afford. 2018 I'm sure ETH will be a big competitor BTC.

Well, all of that are the popular altcoin in the trading and in online market. In addition to that, some of them are very useful and the price was very nice. Holding of any altcoin is an opportunity to gain a lot of income and I believe that the price of all altcoin will rapidly increase in the near future and many people also believe to that.
