ETH and Zcash at present are doing good in terms of volume and market cap as well. We also have LTC but now many do not deal with this coin as compared to some month back the case was . So you can buy this coins at present considering they seem to have good future as well .

Yes as of now ethereum is the most popular agree for that as i see the rank of eth it is good and hope it would never change hoping that eth would go as good as now as how it move. Thats only for my opinion that is how i can see the ranking of coins in the market.

Ethereum really is supposed to be the 'next big thing' (some even already consider it as a big thing, and it kinda is). We might wanna even remove it from AltCoin talk, since its gotten so big - it should be compared to bitcoin and not ICOs and 10kk volume coins...

To answer your question, i think Litecoin is still the most popular one. People still go for it as they see it as a less volatile coin to buy and hold for longterm profits.

I think it is the ETH, followed by ZCash and Dash. The popularity depends on the market's cap. ETH is believed and compared to be the competition of Bitcoin because of its worth. Usualy i use https://coinmarketcap.com for looking for the most popular altcoins, you can check on there, many popular altcoins on there, and litecoin is still popular although the price is going down but doesn't mean litecoin is not popular, it is just fluctuation of price litecoin.
