It's very sad to see one of the, if not the, best dice sites to be closed, especially since it's one of the few sites that allowed to be an investor. But I totally understand that running such site is a heavy burden, so best of luck to you Ethan with whatever you are planning to do now.

For us though, dice games were much more fun when the cryptocurrency world was smaller, and the coins themselves were (sort of) detached from the real-world value. Bitcoin and other coins are much more than they used to be a few years ago. Crypto is goin mainstream in a big way. Cryptocurrencies are not for geeks any more, they became the cutting edge of the future financial world.

Do you mean the price growth and other events have negatively impacted crypto gambling? I'm curious to hear more.

It was very fantastic journey by yolodice. They had being doing their job with the power of honesty. That why they were successful in there business. But people did not expect something like this closing news will come too soon. Really very sad news for the players and also the team.

Since they are saying this will resume one day in future, let's think positive and they will come back soon even in few months.

When you do tend to make an investment, havent you considered about the risk? If you are seeing negative wayback before then why you havent pulled out your investment
rather than waiting for it to become deeper?

Yeah, losing investment do hurts but doesnt mean that you would really be blaming and whining off because you had lost your investment.
They wont be closing without valid reason and if they intent to make more then closing option will not be into their consideration.

But with sudden intimation investors will now have to book losses unless something changes in last 1 week and the losses get reduced. It's hard but finally its now fact where Yolo is suspending and will have to move on.

Yeah I fully support Yolodice they have done their best and are running a long campaign but this is the last week for the participants but I am sure he is very happy with this announcement in the sense that he has done a great job with Yolodice.

I know Yolodice is a well-known gambling platform since a long time ago they have been giving big wins to its users in a fair manner, of course they prioritize it hopefully this is not the end of everything in promoting in this forum.

Actually I never expected such one of the dice site will suspend their service when the cryptocurrency adoption is at its peak but let's hope everything is happening for a good reason. I don't have much experience with playing on Yolodice but I played very few bets for testing purpose.

And also everyone should withdraw if there are any balance left in their account because people wakeup after a long sleep will call such sites as scammers for their ignorance.

Yes, exactly. I'm one of them. I really expected that, with the lower commission on the LTC investments, I will have a chance to return the lost stake.
Now I know this is not going to happen and this has been one of the worst investment decisions for me.

Ofcourse there are always some who do get lucky and money hits them in the sweet spot, but its never happened to me and not sure it is going to ever happen.

I have never been a user of Yolodice but am very curious about this question.  I am quite surprised why in the current bullish time, Yolodice, which has been running for 4 years (I read from the beginning) closed their gambling business.

THANK YOU! It's really hard to express how much I will miss YD, and how much I am happy for these 4 years - it was really fun. But as I hinted in the explanation, the real-world value of coins are kind of killing the fun. Not to mention the crazy transaction fees that kill the fun completely for smaller players.

No worries, I cannot stand doing just nothing, so I'll probably come back with something new. Maybe a distributed, consensus-based, verifiable game?

I think this was the right decision at the right time honestly. Right now decentralized gambling is becoming bigger and bigger, that way people do not really have to worry about everything from security to safety of funds and many other things, here we have been talking about how LTC investors lost 80%+ in just past 1 year and we have talked about all the problems and on top of that you worked on not to have more than that, these were just the ones we faced even after you worked so hard. At the end of the day we know you, you will do something amazing once again, but yolodice was just getting way too old, the idea of it became a bit ancient by all the improvements in the crypto world.

I would say give a break for a while, handle this and until summer figure out what you will do for people who are not withdrawing their money because believe me there will be people who are not withdrawing their money. Eventually after the summer you will come back with something major, I know it.

So you've invested in a company, the company has been taking a loss and eventually was forced to shut down. It's a normal situation.
If you theoretically held YD's stock, you'd feel the same. They'd take losses and eventually go bankrupt not allowing investors to earn back and it wouldn't be anything unusual.
I also believe that allowing someone else to try to run the business might be a safe way out, but it's not my decision to make.

It is always sad to hear when a site we know for a long time closing their doors. Whenever i played i had a good time and thank you Ethan and Scott for the show and hope the team will return after a much deserved break. The words are touching, sure the market has grown and with these increase in valuation the risk is higher, i can very well understand the position.

The situation is right, if a company is taking a loss then the stock will go down but the investor will know the situation at every point and if i remember in the case here they were transparent with everything.

I also believe that allowing someone else to try to run the business might be a safe way out, but it's not my decision to make.

If the owners ever plan to sell the site they should inform everyone that the team has changed hands and it is difficult to find a trusted team to run the business and hence they are closing.

If you are worried about the current value and the high fees you can adopt those coins which have smaller transaction fees like xrp and tron or maybe add a stable coin like USDT so that small players can still enjoy playing here.

Anyways seems you are planning something new since you said a certain type of option here and we will respect your decision upon suspending your operations.

I am surprised they close the website and didn't sell it to the new owner. he doing a good reputation and make Yolodice name stay trusted.

Since you have decided to close this business, it is possible that you put your site on auction and sell it instead of completely closing it ?
This way the site will continue to run but under the new management. I know some investors may be willing to buy a running business.

When you auction a casino that has people's investments on the bankroll you can't just sell it to anybody. You have to make sure the buyer can be trusted to not steal the bankroll since the whole thing becomes wide open to them.

I don't know the size of YOLOdice's bankroll but I doubt Ethan would sell the domain to some random stranger on the internet.

Even if he sell the domain and casino, i will quit Yolodice as i will not trust the new people managing the same gambling casino. Since we would not know their reputation they can use the name of yolodice to scam people. I will not encourage this idea of selling this domain to any random person for money.

Better to do not sell it to a new owner, In the near future, if He wants to come back, he will launch the website without a problem

Ethan, I wish all the best for you. I was part of yolodice signature campaign for more than a year, it was an amazing time.

Yolodice is an amazing service, and I know that it is no easy task to keep it running. Enjoy your retirement, and I am sure it was an amazing professional  experience.

Cryptocurrency world will certainly miss such a professional casino.

That is the thing about early bitcoin adopters: Too much risky, too much innovation, and that really pays off after a few years.

A great site is leaving, but leaves the doors open for a possible return, they may be studying the multiple ways to avoid high fees, you can even create a project based on tokens.

For this same problem, some sites chose to have XRP, BNB to lower the price of their fees. I know that everything will work out, a great platform with such success must come back with more strength.
