I just stick to old altcoins like ltc, eth or xmr. And hopefully by 2018, it's time for them to be worth more. I'm looking for profits but don't want to risk too much. Investing in a newcomer (which did not appeal to me), to me was frightening

I think eidoo will be an excellent investment in the year 2018, ICO has been successful collecting 81k ETH and currently listed on big market as bitfinex. total supply is only 90m and Circulating supply is around 10,7 m. current prices still look cheap about $2 I think this coin is very good potential for increased to $10-50 in the year 2018.

As I don't want you to gamble with your money, I would recommend that you invest in altcoins that already have presense in the market, such as Ethereum and XRP. Both of these coins offer some great advantages over their competitors and had very good gains within the last months. The fact that the crypto space is just starting to gain traction means that much more projects will be launched (on Ethereum) and more interest will rise as long as dapps will attract new consumers. Sooner or later adoption will increase and money will start flowing into crypto, and any coin that is not BTC is a good potential candidate for anyone tired of the old-fashied and gold standard named "Bitcoin".

Litecoin will surely have a nice year in 2018, but only if bitcoin falls hard. We need bitcoin to fall down otherwise altcoins will never rise up. I think that bitcoin is already high.

I think the platforms and major protocols are still best options. They have most potential in long term and they more safe than coins with small market. I'd say ETH, NEO, XEM, STRAT, WAVES, Raiden.network, kyber.network, polka.dot are pretty strong in long term.

To the current view of things going on in the crypto market, and the altcoin imposing threat to ETH and BTC, I will say BCH is a good coin to invest in now, cause it looks like by the end of the year it will settle down with its current price and increase higher by next year. Buy BCH now, cause it's not too late.
