Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

It means do your research before you point your SHA hashrates at multipool.

I was really rooting for flound. He seems really into the community usually. 227 hours now. This research you speak of? Got a better recommendation? d7 seems to do about a half ppc a day per 10ghs. I have gotten lucky before using multipool and pulled quite a bit of ppc. It just seems like something is going wrong with no blocks found for 227 hours. Flound, could you look into this please?

A few questions for the admin of Multipool.  Does it normally take 79+ hours to find a block of LTC and did you realise the majority of DMD blocks(18/30) are orphan?  I see no sign on any news to correct these issues in the news feed.

OK it is still (18/30) orphans on a regular basis on DMD and LTC is still on the same block for 98+ hours now and still no sign of the admin in his own support thread, wow just wow.  So glad I stopped using this unreliable pool.  Good luck to anyone who uses it, you will need it.

I use BTCGuild for my SHA hash power.  Pure BTC mining for me.  Reliable, admin responds, and regularly gives info.  It's one of the largest BTC pools for a reason.

I've posted earlier why I only use scrypt on multipool.

If you are using the direct port for those coins, then you aren't with the majority of the miners on the pool.  That means there is significantly less hashpower there, which means it'll take much longer to solve a block.  That means huge variance.

The scrypt multiport works great.  I wouldn't use the direct ports unless you can tolerate the variance or you have the hashpower to essentially solomine.

Hi,

When mining on the SHA mulitport and the coin is BTC, I am getting 20% rejects !!!

I have tried this both on us-east and eu servers.

I know p2pool gives more rejects, but is this within the norm ? is anybody else seeing this ?

Regards

found out why. multipool east is down. west is still up

Everything seems down now for me. I was on multiport for scrypt and ppc to see if it eventually cashes out so i didnt waste a week. i have 0's across the board right now for hashrates. I am at work so i dont know what my miners are saying.

miners appear to still be hashing away unless your connected to the east port. the east server is completely down

I tried the pool for 48 hours on scrypt mutliport and have to say I'm very disappointed with the performance.  The pool website is great except the worker notification is kind of lacking.  The problem seems to be stales/rejects.  I was averaging 8-12% stales depending on the rig (irrespective of Linux/Windows and geographic location since I'm mining in 3 US states) whereas I was always getting less than 1% stales at most other major pools.  My DOGE coin earnings (pretty much the only coin mined) were less in BTC value than what I would have earned at other LTC pools sadly.

I wish you luck on the pool but the stale rate needs some work before I would consider throwing my farm back at it.

my DOGE balance hasnt updated in a few hours. is this an east pool issue? it seems that i have been having quite a few issues on this server. earlier i swapped over to west and it failed over back to east.

Can the removal of BTC from multipool.us be considered?

The switching speed of the pool doesn't coalesce well with the overall concept because of the overall low hashrate (compared to other pools), and the overall low amount of time that hashrate contributes to directly mining BTC.

The outcome of this is invariably 48h+ mining that achieves no return whatsoever, and a switch is made to an altcoin.

The only way a small(er) pool will be successful in mining BTC is with a dedicated and ongoing hashrate. This quite simply is not a realistic expectation from a profit-switching mining pool.

Rather than removal...is there "another way"...^^^ see above.
Is there anyway we can re-direct our hashing power to another pool for a "guaranteed" return...I am not technical, however, I would imagine there must be an option of some sort??

Hopefully Flound has that "other way"??

We're already doing this.  We're mining with p2pool. as you can see there are often multiple BTC blocks found per day.  Today there were 2, yesterday there were 3.  The day before that there were 0.  P2pool has about 200 TH on its network.

P2pool has critical mass to mine BTC.  If you stay with Multipool, your rewards will have higher variance on BTC than if you were on another pool.  However over the long term they should be similar.

We only have about 0.5 TH on PPC, I really don't see why anyone would mine PPC on multipool directly.  We have plenty of hash for when it's the most profitable and the multiport switches to it.  If you want to mine PPC directly on Multipool be prepared for high payout variance.

As far as my participation in this thread, practically all my free time for the past 3 weeks has been spent working on the pool and I haven't had time to check it as often as usual, and when I do come here it's mostly trolls and bashers.  So much for the 'community'.

If you want a quick response try email or the IRC channel.

We're on the P2Pool.

Welcome to reality folks.
...some of us said ASIC would destroy BTC mining, and you all laughed. Said it would prevent that dreaded "51% Attack"

I looked at p2pool stats earlier today.  Share difficulty is about 800k or so.  That means to get a piece of the next p2pool block, you need to submit a share > 800k within the time period p2pool keeps for pplns (I think is 3 days, but not sure).

Small (< 100gh/s?) miners beware.

M

It's madness to mine on your own p2pool node with a small amount of hashrate.  Not only will you not find a sharechain block very often, but your payments will be basically dust.

The dev was supposed to be addressing these types of issues with the large donation of LTC he got, but his last commit to the git repository was over a month ago.  We have really been waiting for some features and now we are basically between a rock and a hard place WRT the BTC pool because we don't have enough hashrate to go it alone on our own stratum instances (even though the lower stale rates of stratum vs. p2pool would help retain new miners) and yet the dev has not made any progress that I am aware  of on the features that were requested.  He hasn't even merged the patch I sent him to log shares to a DB which would help smaller pools get started with p2pool.

Multipool - Always mine the most profitable coin - Scrypt, X11 or SHA-256!
