The IoP blockchain is considered irreversible, so the project has already started. The core client is a fork of bitcoin 0.13 + additional functionality that we incorporated (whitelisted miners, minerCaps, premined, etc. you can read more on our technical document linked above.).

We are currently developing the Contribution Contract and Voting functionality into the blockchain. Segwit will be incorporated at some point after that.

Ok i have a problem for some reason the peers keep getting banned in the wallet they connect then get banned , i unban them then a few minutes latter they get banned , it says they are banned until the 14 of november , can someone help me with this

How to get started with iop mining?

Fermat Team has high standards set how it will promote it Project and build Internet of People all over the World
we start by building Local Chapters, ppl that build IoP Chapter in their Country and meet standards set are granted mining until POW/POS Hybrid is open for public (subject to change). One of reasons is we believe ppl should Collaborate and Join us build strong IoP Network first and get funded for their Activities. As of now there are 10 IoP Chapters build or in Process of building:

Due to the roadmap and protocol we only have a limited number of mining licences.

So we decided that 2 groups can earn the right to mine in these early days:

1. Fermat Local Chapters
2. Groups or Individuals and Developers that bring huge value to the Fermat Network

Developers will soon be able to earn IoP automatically from the Blockchain, if their projects get voted from the community.

If you read through the Documentation and Whitepaper (in OP) you can see, that once we are ready with the complete set of features we need for the Internet of People (in some months), we open up for everybody, same like bitcoin is open to all people, but if you remember the good old days of mining.... it is similar now ;-)

One thing is different though: We invented a miningCap. This makes the Token more valuable over the time and stabilizes the price in the beginning. So it is not possible to start a race and mine to the moon. This should prove our solid intentions and give confidence to the community.

So get our Newsletter, connect to a Chapter in your area (or build one yourself if you can invest some time).

Chapters

The distributed federation of chapters contains self sustaining local chapters which have their own economic models to ensure their financial and legal independence.
Chapter's Responsibilities:

• Running at least a local Fermat IoP Full Node as part of the backbone network of IoP.
• Running a website with all the information and documentation in the local language\/dialect (accordingly to the Fermat Chapter Guidelines).
• Expanding the community through events, conferences, meetups etc.
• Establishing a permanent embassy as a consulting entity for anyone interested in Fermat\/IoP.
• Promoting the ecosystem to recruit collaborators, and expand the user's base in any form.
• Incentivizing entrepreneurs creating business on top of the Fermat framework.

Chapter's Rights:

• Exclusive rights to mine IoP Tokens during the community mining period (beta release phase using bitcoin PoW) until the IoP own mechanisms (e.g. filtered PoS\/PoW) are implemented and released.
• Ownership of the local layer within the Fermat framework where local components and parameters will be defined for all the regional apps running on Fermat implementation (right to the micro-license stream of payments).
• Priority of submitted projects and getting funding from the Fermat Foundation (or similar legal entity defined).
  Everybody can set up a Fermat chapter, as everybody can build and set up a node.

Chapters meeting over conditions (e.g. building a legal entity) can apply for approvement by the foundation and get an official trusted badge and will get the title of an embassy.
To bootstrap this network quickly, to support and guide this federated organization, the foundation will approve and support the first chapters and call their Nodes “Trusted Nodes”.
Chapters have to be protected by some kind of legal entity to make this process safe and secure for the connecting Fermat Community Members and for themselves. This could for example a tax exempt legal entity like a limited liability company or a local foundation.
But moreover, the Chapters must build Full Nodes and place them all over the country and establish a social-economic structure around them – the backbone of the IoP P2P network.

Hi, we believe in decentralization and regarding mining, we will implement every idea that leads to decentralized mining. Having said that, currently we are at a very early stage. Our mining is still not permission-less (only community members mine at this stage). Also the mining is capped, meaning that no one can mine more than 3 times than the average. These measures are provisional until we implement our own PoS / PoW hybrid. By then mining will be permision-less and hopefully decentralized.
