overvalued heavily at the very beginning. Still looking for a reasonable bottom that will reflect the current project situation.
The price may rebound though, provided we have some positive follow up on the app.

"One of the always upcoming problems that the IoP Community sees in the Fermat Project is the fact that there has been a horrendous sum of premined tokens distributed. The IoP Community understands where this decision has come from in the early stages. There have been people working hard for the vision of an Internet of People and deserved their fair share. But what is not understandable, is the fact that over 1 Million IoP tokens (out of a total of 1.6 Million Tokens available) are in the hands of two people, which are Luis Molina and Lan Tschirky (initial payment to both in total was approximately 1.3 Million IoP tokens).
There has been a promise that these Tokens will be used for the forthcoming of the project.Up until now a great majority of these tokens are still in the hands of the above mentioned people. From a community standpoint this can be considered as a threat to the network."

The price really drops and I hope the dev can do something about it, I thought coin has a coin potential in the market I seldom drop here but I read that there was a split in the group, that could cause the project to drop.

Ok - today we proudly could announce our "IoP Connect" App (in Beta) - the maybe first (!) true p2p Chat App - which creates connections directly between the users/the smartphones. No middlemen is needed - after establishing the connection by using our own decentralized profile servers - the connection runs directly between the users.  
Keep in mind that this software is still beta and most of the features you will miss are allready on their way - but we are always happy for your bug reports.

So what happened to this project. I really thought it was a cool idea. The dev is just gone? Seems they just released a beta app recently. Are people still mining it? Why has it dropped from it's all time high of 0.015 down to so low?

Today we could prouldy announce our new Wallet Version 5.0.0 with much less of the old crap.
We have newer checkpoints for faster synchronisation.
The mining has been speed up by getting rid of uselesses Code from the old, bad implemented "Contribution-Contracts".
AND the most important Change: After Block 50400 every Block will mine 50 (!) IoP so that in the near future we are able to hold much more tokens in community-hand than the premine ever had.
(If we hadn't changed this we wouldn't ever reach ~21 Million Tokens, we would stop nearly by 3 Million.)

We still working with licenses, we are rebuilding community, so maybe you can claim your country licence (or state to some countries)..

Compared to ICOs, IOP with a cap around 13M based on current price is very good buy IMHO. The project has quite a lot of work done unlike many raising funds these days. If it reaches current ETC size in the future, we're looking at 100x growth.
