On the other hand, this all depends on the presentation of BitDice.  People are eager to test new wagering sites, or new released games of an established Site.  But of course it all depends on how the management see this suggestion. 

BitDice had already user base that are wagering on  sportsbet on other sites, won't this users bet in Bitdice instead if they set up sportsbetting?  I think this players will.  It is a hassle to move fund from one site to another site   People are lazy.  They want everything instant and most of the time. they , including me don't want to move from site to site just to play or bet on something.

And of course this needs feasibility study on the profitability of the add-on.

Well, to have a variety of games in one gambling site will help to attract more players, I believe adding sports betting in a site would help and what happen to other sites is not because they are hit by high rollers but that is due to lack of marketing and their income cannot cope up with their expenses. They are not only focusing on dice game as their name imho, as they are planning to add other games. They were also had other games than dice in the past if I remeber it correctly. Domain name does not limit their own project, they are free to add games without having new site or changing the name.

For you I will say that bitdice is purely made for gambling not for sportsbetting and they will continue to work for these gambling games which they have and will work to improve in that field with all of their power. The resources he is referring to is less likely financial and more likely time/manpower related. It takes a good amount of development time to add new features like this and it would be the limiting factor as opposed to financial reasons.
