But since everything I make is adjustable, it should be able to run on a standard USB port. The test setup VH uses is hooked into a computer port.

I currently have 3 of the original compacs running at 375MHz in this 10-Port 60 Watt Powered USB 3.0 Hub which just arrived earlier today. It replaced my 7-Port Powered USB 3.0 Hub, which would start giving me the occasional error when attempting to run 3 sticks anywhere over 325 MHz. I'm wondering if I will be able to plug the 2pacs into the same hub without any problems (realizing I would likely have to run them at a lower frequency & make some voltage adjustments). Either way, VERY happy to be getting another GekkoScience product & can't wait to start playing around with them!

I did 80% derate for 24/7 running I did 10% derate for efficiency. which is how I got 40-43 watts max for 24/7 running. at 2 amps a port you are 4 maybe 5 sticks

Do you know of any better hubs that will work with 6-10 sticks running 24/7 which are being cooled with that fan you sent me? Also, I came across the answer to one of my own questions regarding the capability of mixing the new and old sticks in the same hub, and the good news is that you can! Don't know how I missed it but here is the quote from sidehack: A driver with baseline functionality has already been developed, and by deployment should be both backward-compatible with the original Compac and forward-compatible with the pod.

Any hub with USB and power should work. There are specialty hubs for mining designed for blocks eruptors and such available for around 150$ if you are serious about mining, but again any cheap powered hub works. Eyeboot also sells specialty hubs that run pretty well.

One of these days I'll get back around to my powered USB hub project.
Also, all orders paid as of now have been entered on the queue.

If you set the original compac at 350Mhz / 790mv, how much amperage is the sticking drawing from a port?

I would check the original compac threads for various efficiency charts posted by me and TheRealSteve.

Wow, if the unpaid are all part of the group buys and eventually go thru, that would put you at HALF the run sold already!!! Congratulations.

How do you figure that? I see 7 on the Canada group buy and like 22 paid so far, so that is only around 30? In the OP he said he is planning on making 1000. Maybe I am missing something? edit: Nevermind, I see what you saw now. Sorry about that.

I have seen some of the eyeboot hubs which have a ridiculous amount of ports, but I would be interested in something like a 10-15 port hub that could handle running 6-10 sticks 24/7 at 350MHz or more. Anyway, thanks for the info and I hope you can lead me to one like you described!

Im on a phone sadly, so this will lead to a mobile page. http://m.ebay.com/itm/261922164767?_mwBanner=1This is cheaper and has 3.0 900ma ports, not sure of max input voltage though. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Dyconn-Power-Hub-SuperSpeed-9-Port-2-5A-Charging-Only-Industrial-Grade-USB-3-0-/112083018028?nav=SEARCH7 port superbpag 60w, best I can recommend. https://www.amazon.com/Superbpag-Portable-Charger-Transfer-Samsung/dp/B013OK10YMAt such a low number of ports there's really nobody making hubs just for mining as most all hubs work. Mining hubs are really made for people who are serious about their sticks

I have this USB hub and it's solidly built and my lone Compac is happily hashing away in it. I had another 60watt hub and it wasn't very good. The Compac hashed, but was constantly having issues. It may not have been the hub, but rather the power supply provided with the hub. That power supply was always overly warm to the touch.

Yeah, the power supply that comes with most units like that are usually cheap and don't work well. I tend to replace them as soon as I get them, they're usually not of the best quality and can break on you at any moment. Over 1/3 of the 2pacs have already been sold, great to see the amount of interest in the community for this miner. I'm personally saving for the BF16 pod and chip, but I'll see if I can buy a few more

Due to the Christmas, my availability will be sketchy the next couple days. If you want to order a 2Pac, either be prepared to wait a bit for me to get back to you.
Based on tracking, I very much expected to see the 2Pac test PCBs arrive today, but for some reason they didn't. Just as well because I ended up not having time to mess with 'em anyway, but it would have been nice to know they were in my custody. I'll make sure to grab 'em next week and get some assembled post-haste so I have some pictures for y'all.

don't think there is one quite yet. Bitshopper.de sold em last time around for EU but things are different this time around so I have no idea. Someone's going to have to make a group for EU since shipping will be real expensive to EU.

I would also be interested in a EU group buy thread. If shipping costs are too high maybe we can send them all to 1 member and then he can re-send inside the EU.
