I currently have 3 of the original compacs running at 375MHz in this 10-Port 60 Watt Powered USB 3.0 Hub which just arrived earlier today. It replaced my 7-Port Powered USB 3.0 Hub, which would start giving me the occasional error when attempting to run 3 sticks anywhere over 325 MHz. I'm wondering if I will be able to plug the 2pacs into the same hub without any problems (realizing I would likely have to run them at a lower frequency & make some voltage adjustments).

Either way, VERY happy to be getting another GekkoScience product & can't wait to start playing around with them!

that hub has a 60 watt brick so derate to 48 watts and then derate to 43 watts.

my guess is it maxes at 40-43 watt draw at the ports so 3- 4 sticks if you push 5 - 6 if you don't.

I did 80% derate for 24/7 running I did 10% derate for efficiency.  which is how I got 40-43 watts max for 24/7 running.

at 2 amps a port you are 4 maybe 5 sticks

Thanks for the info on the hub Phil (I am not much of an electrician and that is good data to have)! Do you know of any better hubs that will work with 6-10 sticks running 24/7 which are being cooled with that fan you sent me?

Also, I came across the answer to one of my own questions regarding the capability of mixing the new and old sticks in the same hub, and the good news is that you can! Don't know how I missed it but here is the quote from sidehack:

Any hub with USB and power should work. There are specialty hubs for mining designed for blocks eruptors and such available for around 150$ if you are serious about mining, but again any cheap powered hub works. Eyeboot also sells specialty hubs that run pretty well.

If you set the original compac at 350Mhz / 790mv, how much amperage is the sticking drawing from a port?

Can you please let me know where I can find a hub like the one you described (made specifically for mining)? I have seen some of the eyeboot hubs which have a ridiculous amount of ports, but I would be interested in something like a 10-15 port hub that could handle running 6-10 sticks 24/7 at 350MHz or more. Anyway, thanks for the info and I hope you can lead me to one like you described!

At such a low number of ports there's really nobody making hubs just for mining as most all hubs work. Mining hubs are really made for people who are serious about their sticks

I have this USB hub and it's solidly built and my lone Compac is happily hashing away in it. I had another 60watt hub and it wasn't very good. The Compac hashed, but was constantly having issues. It may not have been the hub, but rather the power supply provided with the hub. That power supply was always overly warm to the touch.

Yeah, the power supply that comes with most units like that are usually cheap and don't work well. I tend to replace them as soon as I get them, they're usually not of the best quality and can break on you at any moment.

Over 1/3 of the 2pacs have already been sold, great to see the amount of interest in the community for this miner. I'm personally saving for the BF16 pod and chip, but I'll see if I can buy a few more

Based on tracking, I very much expected to see the 2Pac test PCBs arrive today, but for some reason they didn't. Just as well because I ended up not having time to mess with 'em anyway, but it would have been nice to know they were in my custody. I'll make sure to grab 'em next week and get some assembled post-haste so I have some pictures for y'all.
