What makes you think that thousands or millions of people can afford life in the times of active Nuclear War ?

And not just ISS but things like that are going to be only opportunity. Obviously no one will be able to continue life like before after nuking Earth. But would be a matter or who lives longer.

At the most, a thousand individuals may be able to escape from the earth in case of a nuclear war. But even for them, the long-term survival is in doubt. From where they will be able to source the food and water?

This is speculation. No one knows how many will survive. What if some entrepreneur starts a service to protect you in such situations ?

And what is long-term or short-term ? who sets the numbers? Even if there is no War , you wont live for eternity ,do you ? You are not long-term on earth itself. Also u dont need food and water to survive. There are meds that can keep u alive for many years,though not readily available.

Rubbish. Medications can't keep you alive for more than a few weeks. You need carbo-hydrates and fat, even if you can get the much needed proteins and vitamins from the medical pills.

No but around 600.000 everywhere else through firebombing. Japans industry areas were destroyed through us air raids and so the japs moved their production into urban areas.
Majority of japanese houses were build from wood and paper. Great firework for the USAF.

Do you really think they have no bunkers in Israel?
You don't need much to survive a nuclear blast, in most cases an underground tunnel or a car park should suffice. 3-4 miles from the ground zero you can survive in a normal basement. A high end fallout bunker can survive a direct hit, meaning that it can be inside the ground zero. Of course it all depends on the size of the warhead.

Like in the near of deserts, in the outback of russia russia, in some country in africa, like this.

Who will survive?
Just a few people maybe but what will be their future or future of humankind?
They will probably need to live in their caves for centuries.
Our civilization will come to the end.

That's because there were some crazy experiments, like the russian tsar bomb.
The pic shows the detonation of 500kt. A typical missile like the US Trident has 300kt warhead, but there are bigger ones with a cluster of 500kt.
Tsar had 50 mt, if someone started mass producing and detonating similar bombs, there would be no place you could hide. A shockwave would destroy everything within 50 miles and cause fires in twice the radius.
