If nuclear war broke out where's the safest place on Earth?

But just try to think of it as what have happened in Japan, only this time, a lot of places had been hit. What should we do then.. Where really is should be the best way to go. What do you think of the 'underground setup'?

I am not sure whether underground bunkers will be immune from radiation. But even if they are safe, I am afraid that only a very small number of individuals could be housed in such facilities for long-term.

Actually, there is no safest place to survive from nuclear radiation but underground. Underground can provide small number of individuals, yet you'll be free from nuclear radiation.

There are some speculations that there are some compounds underground , maybe whole city. But when you think about it , its not imposible to build whole city underground. It only requiers a lot of money to invest, but its possible .

In Russia there is such city of Odessa. In this city under the ground, the tunnels were dug. These tunnels are so long that they can go with almost any home in the city. I think it is possible to escape the explosion, but to survive it will be impossible even there.

Anyway Russia is a very large country, and the surface area is almost twice as that of the United States. This is a major advantage for Russia, in a potential nuclear war against the United States.

United states of america dont stand a chance in war with Russia , that is why they need help from other countrys as well . But even with help i think Russia will give be hell of a fight , and dont forget that there is other countrys that will support Russia ...

This is because US really knows how to play it well. While it really is such a shame, but US' influence against other countries and its allies are really persistent that it can use them for its own benefit.

but, is it open for anyone. i have some negative minds about the goverment.
 and although those bunkers are big enough .. do you think it will be able to save all over peoples arround 'em, and not having over fullness issue?. if that will be happened, those bunker holders starts to make some exception for some peoples in order to avoid that issue. how 'bout it?

but, is it open for anyone. i have some negative minds about the goverment.

One worry is that now that it has been publicly shared in the media. The counterforces would then target this and therefore not make this that safe anymore. But really, these are the plans that I believe should work. Underground bases and such.

Well the thing is that with nuclear war, we wouldn't know for sure how large the coverage of the damage would be. If a single nuke can level an entire city, imagine what several nukes aimed at different parts of the world could do. Even the extreme poles i think won't be safe enough for us. And an underground facility would be only as good as the supplies it has for a limited number of people. Radiation would still be very potent when the time comes that the people would need to come up their bunkers wherever that is.

The contamination will be distributed unevenly. During the Chernobyl disaster, certain areas in Sweden and Finland were more affected than Russia and Ukraine, as the winds carried the contamination to these regions.

Space travel is extremely expensive. Even the International Space Station can't accommodate more than six people. Remember that it was constructed at a cost of around $150 billion. And it needs constant supplies of food and oxygen.

It could be massive, if nuclear power, equipment, and weapons could destroy not only one country, but the world could be. The effect of it could be a blast, and can destroy all of the things living around. If nuclear is launched, we cannot say whether where will be the safest place on earth

Yes, if nuclear war broke out, then no where to hide in this world. The effect of nuclear is too big to be use for a war. Not only could kill an enemy, but also can kill yourself in one shot. Even if you live underground, that is not safe. To be alive for a long time in a nuclear war age, you just use a mask and it will reduce the effect for a little time. But in the end, to be alive in that situation is too hard.
