Duly noted. Thanks for the info.

Now it's time for the FTC to put everything Butterfly Labs has done through the magnifying glass and then burn the wings off those bastards.

Didn't read through the whole post and someone probably mentioned it by now but "armory wallet" work pretty good for me security wise.

I have a quick question about the wallet file.

I could make a backup of my wallet, use my main wallet, then go back to the backup and it would update and be correct, is this right?  Or do I have to update my wallet backup after each transaction?

Great technical tips!

One big risk has not been covered though; physical violence / threat of physical violence
Seems like the weakest link as with many other things of value.

To hedge such an attack one best keep a wallet or two which can be "sacrificed" under extreme circumstances and a few others that are literally out of immediate reach.

The idea of a live boot USB or CD to store your wallet on, keeping it and any trace of the wallet off your online computer is solid.
Or, if you know ~exactly~ where your wallet data is on your computer... lock it down, copy it to a USB, then secure delete it off your hard drive... then eject the CD (or USB) works just as well.
I prefer USB.
And prefer not to need to reboot into another OS just to look at my wallet.

I just keep it simple. Export my private key. Use gpg to symmetrically encrypt it. 10 years later its still good.
