people are very quick to scream SCAM but they really know what is the real scam, how can you say that a particular project is a scam when they are giving something in return in exchange to your money? we can say it is a FAILED project when it does not meet your expectations but don't say everything that does not gives you a pleasure is a scam, be matured enough, it's already new year.
let's move forward guys Smiley

so if i take 10,000 dollars from you but give you a steaming pile of shit in return i DIDNT scam you "cause you got something in return"?
your logic is so flawed, ill blame it on your lack of experience in this section :/

keep in mind most of us are this way as were tired of being traded steaming piles of shit from these ICOs.
This project is unnecessary IMO, if the OP felt different it would carry on.
my guess is they are busted and its dead now, LBRY and Alexandria are ALREADY useable lmao, why would anybody support this, hmm? do YOU have a reason?

I feel pity for your loses. But I guess problem with you is that you are not able to distinguish between Scammers and Non-Scammers.

I am not defending this project because I m not endorsing it but I m just telling you to be more careful and do a proper due diligence while choosing to invest in any project, by that you might lose less money and more importantly you will stop bashing someone else's project which can turn out to be next Bitcoin or Ethereum.

IMO-
You cant decide something to be a SCAM till you actually get Scammed Tongue

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I think they are trying to make another steemit , but how will you decide if the content is good or not? without censorship meaning people are free to post porn and insults to religions?

Goodness is subjective. People are allowed to post any content but it is only visible to and hosted with people who desire that content.

Your questions must be addressed. They are the right concerns. If the dev has not have anything relating to these things in the past, you can brainstorm to include the tools needed.

let me clarify. It is not us who decides the quality of the content, it's the decision of the users who view it.

When a piece of content is shared or hosted, it is hosted from that person's system. If someone decides to share porn and insults to religions, they would be the only one able to see that content. Others who want to see that content will need to download that content to be able to view it. Hence if someone who happens to download that content finds it inappropriate and/or hurtful they simply stop downloading the content from that particular author in the future.

the main purpose of publishing contents is to let it be read by anyone publicly and if possible go viral. if this isn't what is going to happen on your platform, then i guess i'd stay way from that project. its not going to be decentralized in my opinion. and its DISRESPECTFUL  Grin

Yes, respectonomy allows anyone to view any content with a possibility of it going viral; but only if the viewer WANTS TO view it.
Consider, adult content - it is allowed to be published on our platform but is only available to the publisher's followers & only hosted by publishers who decide to do so. This not only fights censorship of controversial content but also let minority views & endangered knowledge to survive.

Thats nice, i have enough of all the spying around, usually publishers (google) forces you to watch content you don't want to, even in gmail now, if you purshase something your gmail account you will be spammed with google ads, and you will have to see annoying content who have nothing to do with you, i have this problem with google searches also, as 'they' show me what they want me to see.
The idea of displaying only the content i want to see is really interesting as long as there is no fancy algo who will manage this automatically as automation in this domain is far from bein matured, just look at google.

This is the reason why Respectonomy was born. Tracking, advertisements, spam, trolls, and censorship have grown exponentially in the past decade. We wanted a platform that eliminates all these unwanted content.

as far as i can understand, you are making the decentralized social platform to share anything with related tags or categories. will it make the user experience on this platform Anonymous or can it be tracked it any way? also can it be blocked by any state/country?

Content is not discovered based on tagging or categorisation but based on frequency of nearness in the curated list, more details about the implementation of which is discussed in the whitepaper which is releasing very soon.

The platform is not anonymous but pseudonymous like bitcoin in terms of content discovery. Censorship is resisted by making the content replicated in a distributed network. However, peer info while downloading content is not anonymous in a torrent network. Despite that the system fights censorship by replicating the information globally.

We really happy to receive such good question. Please wait for whitepaper which shall answer your most of the queries.

According to the LBRY website -
Quote
LBRY is a digital media library at your fingertips.
If you read this PRE ANN correctly, Respectonomy is a Decentralized social network. I don't see how a Decentralized social network is the same as a digital media library. The accounts of the devs are newbies because we are new to this forum and it takes some time to increase activity.

I don't see any rules written anywhere which says that newbies aren't allowed to develop altcoins of their own. We are currently in the process of releasing our white paper (which apparently lbry doesn't seem to have one) and finalizing details for the ICO. After reading our whitepaper if you still feel we are a scam, we would be disappointed to lose you as an investor.

this looks interesting, will wait for whitepaper to be published to understand about how this "nearness" is ascertained and how it is better than torrent if the peer info is exposed anyway for the content they host or download. it can be a setback for those residing in countries like saudi arabia etc where censorship is at the highest level. someone who dont know what he is hosting can get into trouble for hosting anti state stuff.

In order to answer to everyone, could you please precise where the posts will be stored, on a website ? on the blockchain ? is it like steemit ? can we have some examples, may screens or something else ? how will the censorship be managed ? how will the tracking be managed ? do the posts will be manager by the blockchain ?

I wouldn't see it like this, you know, there are some good projects there, and where you have good projects you have 100 bad ones, it is normal, you shouldn't say that scams are everywhere, some times scam projects can turn to true projects, please, be more constructive and say why you think this project is a scam, i don't like when people just comme in and say "scam beware" , if you do it, then please be smart enough to say why.
As of me, i don't have a clear idea in minde about them, i better like to wait and see how things evolves.

Your post will be stored in your personal device from where you are using platform.

Yes, posts are sort of managed by the blockchain since it is used for every interaction in the system besides tracking etc. Smiley

Also we are gonna release Whitepaper today.

I just hada look at the white paper, nice work, but i would have appreciated more technical details about the project. By the way, you talk about difficulty retarget, based on the last 2016 blocks, but will it be retargeted at each block ? (even if the answer looks clear to me, it may be good to specify it)

In order to answer to everyone, could you please precise where the posts will be stored, on a website ? on the blockchain ? is it like steemit ? can we have some examples, may screens or something else ? how will the censorship be managed ? how will the tracking be managed ? do the posts will be manager by the blockchain ?

Also we are gonna release Whitepaper today.

So, tell me if i am wrong, the content will be stored on everyone's device, like the blocks are, and validated like an address by the blockchain in order to proof it is actually the right post ?

Respectonomy Whitepaper is out!!
OP has been updated with the link. You can read it here.

Disappointing imo.

Not only is it damn near EXACTLY LBRY and Alexandria technically, but you have ZERO mention about how you will handle piracy
EXAMPLE:  Bob starts a social media page on Respectonomy for sharing free softwear keys. EVERYONE hosts his site cause everyone loves free shit.
HOW will you handle the DMCA requests? Will you censor Bob's page (and everyones profit share with it) ? you have to, or get sued. And once you do, that's centralized.

Your "whitepaper" has ZERO info on how you will handle the biggest problem you will face, good job?
You say "quality posts" but there's no info on how USERS will determine what is "quality" and hence the problem i mentioned above)

Sorry, but im unimpressed, no money from me, i still think this is going nowhere.
