I am also not sure about this and would like to see some inputs from long time members .Hope the price is moving in the range of $950 on average and i really did not understand why the price jumped from $800 and hope the bubble will burst at any time and reach back to the level of 800 in a short time.

We better get used to Bitcoin staying over $800 for a long time. The rise this time has been more steady than the mad rush in 2013.

nice information. and the difference is that 2013 was a fake pump but today we are genuinely seeing a nice rise to $800+ based on the slow rise that has been happening over the course of last two years and more.

I think Bitcoin price will be stable at 900+usd. If there isn't anything to happen, The price will grow up to 1,250usd in 3 next months.
I will keep my bitcoins and buy them when the price is crashed. That is best way to make more money.

yes its true and i am agree withyou, i think the price is really slow to get increase and meanwhile the price is going to fluctuate for going up and down in everyday. but i hope in the new year moment, the price is going to be up especially in chinese new year in february.

Of course that some occasional dumps are normal and necessary but I hope they will not be too big and that the price will remain somwhere between 800 and 900 with tendencija to go up without big drops. Hope the 2017 will be the best so far for bitcoins users.

my speculation is that we will never see any price lower than $800 ever and even if another terrible thing happens such as that big hack of a couple of months ago (bitfinex) the price can only go down there for a short time before investors sell their kidneys to buy more bitcoin cheap and a bounce back will happen.

Could someone tell me please that what price is still considered profitable with electricity cost of $0.07 KWH? then I will tell if the above $800 is going to maintain from now on or not, if we stay in above $800 range for more than 2 weeks then the price will remain and will increase from there forward.
I just wish that first 3 big miners avoid dumping more than 100 bitcoins from their long term stashed coins because that's when price starts to dump.

$500 and i don't know where you bring your electricity cost but if we are talking about profitability for miners then that is the price you are looking for because they were making profit happily when price was $200 and reward was 25BTC and to be the same considering the difficulty it has to be $500 with 12.5BTC reward.

3 miners dumping 100 bitcoin each is 300BTC and 3 big miners are pools but even if we assume they are holding that much and dump it then 300BTC is only 0.3% of daily trade volume.

it is good to look at the charts and see an exchange once in a while before speculating my friend!

I'm one of those longing for that price. This is the year that I won't waste my time and money in buying some stuffs that I don't really need.
Let us all stay positive that the price will go rise and rise 'till it reaches $1500 'till the end of the year.

That's a good sign, and it shows that Bitcoin is growing the way it should. In the last big price spikes, there was a lot of bubble effect, there were people buying and selling just for a quick profit, without knowing the true potential of Bitcoin, and the market was more restricted. Now, there are more users, and people are buying because somehow this can make their lives easier, it's something useful for them.

All those statistics confirm that bitcoin is as solid as ever now. This growth is much more healthy than the 2013 one, just go on bitstamp and compare the steep angle of the first 30 to 1200 rally, it's almost a 90 degree line, compare it to the current rally starting at around 150 at around February 2015... the line is way less abrupt, a more healthy range that will continue delivering gains.

I think we will beat the record for $1000 soon too, since last time it was above $1000 for only a couple of days.

As much as I'm hoping this as well, we just have to take a look on the chart history and see that Bitcoin has crashed several times before.
So nothing is for certain and this is what I'm always thinking about.
Bitcoin maybe needs to reach prices like 4000-5000 to stay above 800 if it should crash again.
Always keep in mind that it is all about cycles, up and down.Let's hope the up cycles is larger and holds much longer than the next down cycle!

I think the Chinese miners are getting cheap/free electricity, so they're being subsidized by the Chinese state. If the electricity prices ever rose, I expect mining would move somewhere else.
