Artcoin is a unique combination of art and digital money. It is possibility to paint on banknote something from your personal art. I.e. you can create your own banknote with your view on it. Then you can put your price on it, sell it to anyone who like it.

On our view we are closer to crypto network than fiat currencies or any others money.

The market for proof of provenance is huge.  I wonder why you limit the scope to just art. 

The collectibles market comes to mind.  A proof of provenance would be huge to prove, say, that a Muhammad Ali signature is real or a rare coin graded by PCGS is authentic and not produced in China.  The blockchain would show provenance and perhaps incorporate reputational rankings like an Ebay feedback system. 

I don't know how the concept could be monetized.

The concept could also be extended to authenticating luxury items like Louis Vuitton bags....  counterfeit protection.
