Other

- Igor Pokrajac was expected to face Ed Herman at the event. However, Pokrajac pulled out of the fight in early February citing an injury, and was replaced by Gadzhimurad Antigulov. Then, on February 20, Herman revealed that he was injured and also unable to compete at the event, leaving the promotion searching for a replacement for Antigulov.

- Todd Duffee was expected to face Mark Godbeer at the event. However, Duffee pulled out of the fight in mid-February for undisclosed reasons. He was replaced by promotional newcomer Daniel Spitz.

- A heavyweight bout between Marcin Tybura and Luis Henrique, initially scheduled for UFC 208 is expected to take place at the event. The pairing was initially delayed as Henrique was unable to gain medical clearance by the NYSAC after a recent corrective eye surgery.

No comment or predictions for Tyrone Woodley versus Wonderboy yet. I will just wait for the odds to be posted in the sportsbetting sites and see what they think. This is so close that an underdog odds in this fight is not really one.

Maybe if Wonderboy threw more strikes in the first fight he might have won it. But that will also make Tyrone open up and counter him with a bull rush. The rematch might be another tie? hehehe

It might all be just a threat from Hunt or he's doing this as a publicity stunt to attract the crowd.  But remember, the threat of doing something is sometimes much more advantageous than actually doing it.  It will all end with a settlement involving millions of USD for Hunt.

This is really gonna be better than before. The previous fight is really controversial. But im happy that it turn out to be draw. These two fighters are really good. The previous fight is very special. Most people at the venue is really standing and shouting. These two shows their big heart. Woodley just exert a lot of force at the 4th Round causing exhaustion at the fifth round. And Thompson just did an outstanding performance. I didn't expect him to survive that 4th round. But actually he did. And he came back at 5th round.

This fight will be good one.

According to some comments I have read online, Tyron made a mistake with the choke. He should have pressed the throat to disallow Wonderboy to breath. He was going for a type of choke to make him pass out and in the guillotine position it will be hard.

For the winner it is hard to predict because the 1st fight was close. But for me it was a split decision for Tyron. Wonderboy did nothing in that fight. Tyron knocked him down and did a choke that almost won him the fight.

How do we know if Tyron Woodley is really going to be in danger? You base this on what happened in the first fight. Do you think Tyron did not study that last fight versus Wonderboy? Do you think Tyron did not learn anything? He did so it is hard to judge the outcome of their upcoming fight because there are many variables that might be changing here. Tyron can win this. I expect him to use more leg kicks to slow down his opponent.

YEAH!! My favourite fight so on their first meet Woodley vs Thompson at UFC 205 and now they meet again on UFC 209. I thought it's too fast to meet both fighters again ? Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov ,With Connor Mcgregor taking a long break it is good to have a fight for interim lightweight title because i am not sure Connor is interested in defending his belts in the UFC and he is interested to fight Mayweather now .  
Mark Hunt vs. Alistair Overeem, this is another huge fight for Mark Hunt after the loss against Brock Lesnar and now he is suing UFC as well as Brock for the failed drug test i do not know how things will wind up for him.

@ bbc.reporter the main reason i think is that the skill set and performance of wonderboy Thompson is impressive and he was considered the future champion and his only set back was against Matt Browne and that too in 2012 while in the case of Tyron Woodley his performance against Rory MacDonald was not that impressive as Rory shut him up for almost the entire fight and so everyone expects Wonderboy to out perform Woodley.

That is the problem with analysts sometimes. They always look at the past without considering that a fighter's experience will change him and make him better. After that fight look where Tyron is now. He beat Carlos Condit and Robbie Lawler, 2 of the best in the welter weight division. He arguably beat Wonderboy in their 1st fight.

Lol what are you talking about??  The Weidman loss put Wonderboy Thompson off his game?  Please stop.  They are professional fighters, nothing like that will affect their game.  They're used to it and see winning and losing as part of the sport.  Unless it was a death in the family or something really damn serious, then yes I would agree that it would affect them a lot.

One of the lamest excuses i have heard in my life  If you think Stephen Thomson lost because he saw Romero knocking Weidman,then you wont see Thomson winning ever again as he will have another excuse for another loss.

It is really hard to imagine a ghetto style from him and i really do not think Woodley will be changing his personality .The just has to focus on his fighting and start defeating his challenges. I read some of the transcript and kinda funny how Tyron Woodley would play the
"race" card on the table. We all know that D. Johnson has clean up his division
so its hard to promote him no one in his division has match up to him so seldom
that he gets fight, but if he did he was promoted same as other champion.
Jon Jones has its own problem as well, and we see how UFC have promoted him
as well during this championship days. There are a lot of black champions before
him and no one is complaining. The issue with him is his attitude. To quote Dana,

“The thing is with Tyron, he’s a smart guy, he’s a good looking kid, he’s explosive, he’s got knockout power but he’s a bit of a drama queen,” White said when speaking with ESPN recently. “The way that he’s talking about [being] treated, too and I think he means the fans, when a fight is made and Conor McGregor is a perfect example. This is the second time Overeem and Mark Hunt are facing and this time i am betting on Hunt to win the match.

What I like about when fighters faceoff is you see where their mental conditioning is at.  You sometimes also get an idea of who has the edge that can't be seen when looking at a fighter's statistical record.  Like in that video, you can see that Woodley and Thompson are trying to relax, they don't want to deal with the emotion head on but instead they try to hide it.  For me that might mean that this fight will be EXACTLY like the last fight.  Very close, no real commitment from either fighter and it could go either way.

I think it can go either way. The inexplicable hesitance on the part of both
fighter made it a difficult bout to score because its hard to predict what
the judges seeing because of close rounds. I scored the fight for WonderBoy
anyways, and yeah it was a boring fight. One of the worst championship
fight I ever seen.  It was painful to see them in the ring as no one want's to commit.
I wish Khabib vs Ferguson was not cancelled, Oh well!!

- Igor Pokrajac was expected to face Ed Herman at the event. However, Pokrajac pulled out of the fight in early February citing an injury, and was replaced by Gadzhimurad Antigulov. Then, on February 20, Herman revealed that he was injured and also unable to compete at the event, leaving the promotion searching for a replacement for Antigulov.

- Todd Duffee was expected to face Mark Godbeer at the event. However, Duffee pulled out of the fight in mid-February for undisclosed reasons. He was replaced by promotional newcomer Daniel Spitz.

- A heavyweight bout between Marcin Tybura and Luis Henrique, initially scheduled for UFC 208 is expected to take place at the event. The pairing was initially delayed as Henrique was unable to gain medical clearance by the NYSAC after a recent corrective eye surgery.

Well i can't really decide of this two because they are one hell of a fighter. its really difficult to predict they are evenly match and their fight was really boring nothing special happened it wasn't really that enjoyable the championship was boring for this round >.< i hope someday it would be a interesting fight

I just saw the Allistair Overeem vs Mark Hunt fight because I refused to stay up late since all I wanted to see was the Khabib vs Tony fight.

Anyway it was a decent performance. It was good to see Overeem using his deadly knees again in good effect, but I don't like the fact that he ran around again, he does that too often, he looks a bit gassed, his conditioning is not what it once was, but well he won, now let's see a Miocic rematch.

I finally went for Woodley and Overeem as winners (didn't bet on the rest) so I made some decent money, in any case, the car was greatly damaged by the Khabib incident.

Woodley and Thompson didn't satisfy the public. It was a very tactical fight, very slow, with an explosive ending by Woodley which is what made him win by 1 point.

It's hard to see what can be next for a guy like Woodley. He is doing good in his weight division, maybe he should move and try to fight Conor McGregor in his weight. I doubt Conor is going to be able to bulk up to Woodley levels. Somehow even if both are 5'9'', Woodley looks massive. It's hard to believe he is not on some serious steroids.

It was a really good tactical fight and you do not get to see knock outs when two talented fighters fight and both are not willing to risk and wanted to win the fight and for the audience it will be a boring encounter .Wonderboy has to focus his career on defeating someone else before getting a third shot at the title and i would like to see Woodley face someone else thand Wonderboy as it will not generate the same interest again .
Mark Hunt lost the match which i think that he was not hundred percent committed in this fight with all the legal stuff he was fighting against UFC and Rashad Evans has to retire now his body wont take any more damage.

Two split decision and one majority decision ,that was the case when it comes to UFC 209 and the main event was a starring match rather than a fight . Bloody upsets for this cards are as follows

I under estimated Dan Kelly and his skill set.He was 12 and 1 going into the fight against Rashad Evans but i thought he was yet to prove his worth against a top quality fighter but he fought good with the former champion and won the match in a split decision.It could have gone either way.Good picks by the way.

I just watched the replay of the event.  Well that was a really boring main event.  It played out just like it did in their first bout.  I wish they never ever fight again.  I'm posting the post fight conference for you guys to watch.  I personally think it's a must to watch these since it tells you what the fighters mindsets are after the fight.  That could be useful for your future bets on these fighters.

True, im not saying a 5'9'' guy can't look like that naturally, but steroids are a common thing in the sport, I don't care about how many tests there are happening. Look at Overeem, a lot of people were like you, "have you heard about genetics?", then he finally got caught, so there are a lot of athletes that get away with it at least temporally.

Don't forget that Nate had massive reach advantage against Conor.

Nate and Tyron have different style. So tactically you can't compare Nate vs Connor and Tyron vs Connor if ever they fight in the future. Strength and punching power I would say will go to Tyron but speed I would go to Connor. Connor can bulk up again to fight in this division. However, it will be different in welterweight. I don't know how Connor will react if he is hit in the face by a true Welterweight. We will have to wait and see.

That is the truth,the UFC lacks star power at the moment and so is the reason they hired Georges St Pierre back and if you remember even last month too Dana was not interested in taking GSP and he was claiming he was retired when he wanted to make a return and now he will be facing Bisping for the title. Overeem was a big star when he came to the UFC but after that his performance just went down when the drug testing was getting strict.
Khabib will be back,he must hire a nutritionist to have a smooth weight cut.

Conor will come back some day but he will soon go for the boxing matches, a lot of big money to be made for him in the boxing game, people want to see him, he already got offers to fight canelo and pacman, but the mayweather one is the big huge payday.
