Technology is not always a good thing.

One example is with the children.
In the old days, children used to play outside with their friends.
Now majority of them are just staring at their iPads.

Here are a few of the side effects of technology:
1. Depleting our natural resources

Man may have benefited a lot from the development of technology in most if not all aspects of his life but this is at the great expense of the environment. The technology used to harness our natural resources are so advanced that it can harvest billions of resources in such a short time. Technology is harvesting these resources so fast the world is being sucked dry of its natural riches.

2. Pollution
 
To add insult to injury irresponsible manufacture of products has made our air, water, and land full of toxins. Pesticides, carbon dioxide emission, toxic waste in the water, products like plastic that decay are all products of technology.

3. Extinction

The negative effect of technology to the environment is affecting the every living thing but the toll is heavier on animals other than man because these animals are more vulnerable. Though there are other factors that contributed to the extinction and near extinction of different species technology also plays a very significant part. What is an example of technology contributing to the extinction of animals?

4. Health

While technology has given man better chances at winning in the fight against diseases pollution which is also a product of technology has made man more vulnerable to all kinds of sickness especially cancer.

5. Massive destruction

Not only has technology due to pollution made man more prone to sickness but developments in terms of arms and warfare has also made humanity more vulnerable at being wiped out  and the planet obliterated with just a click of a button.

That is one of the negative effects of technology. People become lazy to socialize. With the technology like gadgets which having many social media applications, it makes people lazy to socialize. Many people prefer having chat on the social network than communicate directly.  As a result, it can lead to individualism.

The major disadvantage of technology is that people are opting to be more nuclear and the real bonding is lost forever as they like to spend most of the time online rather than spending with friends or relatives and trying to fake their personality than what is there in reality.Technology has narrowed the gap for communication round the globe. Technology is one of the best things that ever came to be, you know why? Because it allows you to talk to family that is far away and it can help you make real friends, AND it allows me to find a job to make money. Look, I may be the only one who realizes that 99% of the stuff here is bs but, I have found myself not interacting with family, you know why? Because they are all at work! And the isolation? 70% of the time I am on my computer or something is with real people. So yeah that is my opinion.

Crimes are also more probable to happen and easier to accomplish. Lastly, it affects our behavior in a way that we are more impatient since all of the things we do have is instant. Hence, we are more likely not willing to wait.

We know the many benefits of incorporating technology while teaching, such as adding diversity to lessons, increasing student interaction, and to bringing new perspectives and knowledge to the class. But there can be a negative side resulting from inappropriate or overuse of technology, and that negative side can have serious and long-term consequences.
