Guys we are shocked as you are by Philip's statement. Recent events are overwhelming for us too. Allow me to give you some of the
details before a conclusive announcement is published by us.

 Two days ago we announced our Matchpool Optimization strategy  (see here : https://medium.com/matchpool/matchpool-optimisation-strategy-b9373ae67871) As part of our hedging strategy we decided to convert some of the contributed ETH into BTC, We first converted 10% of the total ETH which is approximately 12,500 ETH and in the second trance we converted 25,000 ETH into BTC. the total BTC converted to sums up to 1450.667. The total amount is separated to many accounts as we save the BTC on cold wallet protected with TREZOR that creates new address every deposit.

Philip statement is currently studied. I'm afraid it is a case of one disappointed man that is trying to hurt all involved.
  

This is a perfectly adequate initial response...
So they moved some funds out of the most volatile alt on earth... what a shocker.

Give them at least 2 days to push back against this out-of-the-blue PR hit...
The big money is always in an exchange listing and pump (Augur is basically a joke and worth $100 million)...
Also, if this was a straight up scam they could have EASILY raised $10-$15 million or more.

And the kids worried about their $10 bounty... please go back to your sandbox

Some comic relieve is always good  . Personally, I'm confident we'll read an explanation shortly and will have a much better perspective of what really happened here.

I keep on trying to assure you guys nothing happened but eventually you keep panicking yourselves with FUD and speculations.
So I will just keep you posted about what is going on without trying to calm you down...

After taking the day to sort things up in this entire mess and drama we can summarise what's happened with few sentences.
One of the co-founders and a member of Matchpool's team realised his position is deteriorating. He was never asked to leave as respect for his contribution along the way. But when he was told that the benefit of Matchpool comes first and that others may be recruited he lost it. After trying to force the team to give him his promised yearly salary today he faced strong resistance. After he saw that we as a team are united in our desire to do what is best for our community he decided to take us all down with him by accusing us of stealing.

In a couple of hours, you will all see the official announcement of our CEO Yonatan Ben Shimon and hear all the details.  

Until than you have a choice to keep on panicking or try to relax, do what works for you

When extreme FUD comes from a co-founder of a very successful project, i expect the team to take a deep breath and re-organize things while the crowds panic.

Let the extreme FUD go away, show more transparency, show us proof that you didn't do it all for the ico.

I suggest some sort of ICO-fork. Show transparency.
Issue a new smart contract where users are free to choose between GUPs at ico price or their ETH back.

Transparency goes a long way. This would:

1. Protect GUP's value on the market
2. Protect the project's integrity
3. Naysayers of the community are offered an exit
4. Avoid conspiracy theories around your name
5. Free marketing for you through crypto-political discussion about this story

Troubles happen.
And good stuff can eventually happen from the way troubles are dealt with.

Agreed, this would be a great move from Matchpool.

ICO finished in only 33 hours? Wow that must be the new record. I couldn't invest in ICO phase but I hope to buy some GUP when it's online in Poloniex or Bittrex. Congratulations for the successful ICO Matchpool!

This seems like advertising trick to catch more attention towards this project in the end everything will turn into wonderful situation. I am pretty sure nothing wrong will happen to this project as the team is really caring and will deliver. Have patience a simple advise.
