How is trading *not* gambling?

Trading - It means buying and selling. It does not mean that you buy something and either you get the payment double or as per ratio or does not get it. i.e what the difference is about.

In Gambling generally in roulette, computer games you do not require any skills only luck to win it. While in trading you need to spot the opportunity, holding time if price is rising etc and sell it appropriately to get profit.

Well that's a good differentiation between trading and gambling. I think that why many are being mislead that trading is gambling because of the risk it has.

They are comparing and thinking that it is the same because it has the same thing. But they are not bearing in their minds that it's actually different.

Gambling is all about wagering and trading is far from it.

they actually think this way because they have nothing to compare it to. for example if they could see someone actually trade and be successful like by following him or seeing in real life they wouldn't call it as gambling anymore. and these people are usually too lazy to learn anything anyways and they just want easy money buy investing and taking millions the next day!

Oh well, that's the main thing why people are gambling. They think that it will be the easiest and fastest way of earning and thanks for adding that.

While in trading, it takes time before you will get some good profit maybe there are times that the transition is very fast.

But time is required in doing some trades while in gambling it doesn't need time instead it makes you on haste when gambling.

It is not really just based on luck is gambling because there are guys who apply certain strategies in gambling also and come up with profit. While trading requires skill but at the same time the biggest factor in trading is again luck !

your facts come from wrong sources, and i believe you have to stop reading bad comments on this forum and most of the social media that everyone spam posts.
"All traders" are not even concerned about ETF and 11 March! in fact ETF is not even that big a deal. it is only some who want to take advantage of the situation who use any kind of news to milk it as much as they can.
in case of ETF, it really isn't big. there are many bigger news that are slipping away without anyone even noticing.

Trading we can consider as gambling, you gamble your funds or take a risks in trading in any investment. Gambling its like you want to entertain a couple of time, minutes, everyday or day by day. However, trading and gambling is risks wether you may win or loose at all.

Yes, I agree with this because gambling will give short term profit and long term loss while trading would always give us profit in long term and may result in loss in short time.

Firstly, we should see which these points are same here in gambling and trading,
1. Invest money
2. Take the risk.
3. Luck
If we use our mind than we know all business are same, we use money and take risk and if we use our skills than it is chance we could earn more. Otherwise if we are lucky than luck wise we could earn more. So i don't think that trading and gambling similar.

Nope, the gambling will give both fun and profit. And Trading is just a business to make money. But the risk is same in both trading and gambling. You have to invest money to make a profit. But in trading at least you will have hope that you can make a profit, In gambling, this type of confidence will never come this purely depends on your luck. Even skill base games also base on your luck.

I think we are forgetting the fact that gambling hardly offers a chance to cut short one losses and that is the reason bursting one's entire balance in matter of seconds is a regular occurrence in gambling. With trading, except a trader also gambles with his trade, it is always possible to cut short one's losses or to determine from the on set how much one is willing to lose for trades gone wrong, more or less like saying gamblers hardly have second chance to try again after some losing streaks.

i think to do trading that is not a gambling is when we make our analisis for the coins, we watching and analyze the trend, how much the price that we want to sell/buy, we analyze the chart so we can have found one range to sell/buy. there are many aspect that we need to made in trading so what we trade is not a gambling.

We can't deny that trading is also part of gambling because i know in gambling, you need to risk an amount or part of your own money to get something more and that was also applied in trading. Trading requires money and you need to risk your own money in order to earn more just like gambling sites does.

But gambling site requires you to bet against them while trading you are just buying and selling entities which no one personally owns and sells. Lol luck is for those who are lazy to research and do their homework in trading.  The only difference between trading and luck is the risk mitigating factor.  Trading has it while gambling do not have it.  Trading, with research and study, news and update, risk invovle can be minimize by studying this indicators.
