I have created this thread for discussion/speculation about AMP/Synereo to keep the original ANN thread troll free or cleaner. A lot of trolls and FUDsters have invaded us and that is very annoying, so I have to make this self-moderated. But I will only delete troll/fud posts (like fresh newbie account with 1 activity spreading FUD), but legitimate criticism is welcome.

Synereo is the future of social media, a decentralized social media with very advanced smart contract capabilities. The currency which fuels it is called AMP. It has 5 years of development behind it and a decentralized storage mechanism has matured into a full fledged social media with lots and lots of features.  It is currently in alpha phase, and you can read more about it in the announcement thread, this thread is for discussion/speculation.

AMP is actually a smart contract on the OMNI network, which is built on the Bitcoin network, which means that AMP is stored on Bitcoin addresses, via a special smart contract. Which means that you can store them in a Bitcoin cold storage address, safely offline, and then use the Omni Wallet to move the funds when you need it.

Here is the speculation for today. The devs have promised a new roadmap that they will announce today, Jan 20. So there is a lot of excitement for today, the price could go up in my opinion.

Today, on December 12th, the majority of Synereo LTD’s shareholders voted in favor of Greg Meredith’s removal from the company’s board, as well as for the cancellation of his consultancy agreement as Chief Scientist of Synereo.

On the 20th of January, Synereo will reveal its new development plan for a distributed social network, operating according to the principals of the Attention Economy and granting real value to AMPs. Synereo’s roadmap will include usable intermediate applications, which will utilize real AMPs and set the bedrock for the network effects necessary for a fully functioning decentralized social network. The last few weeks have been emotionally challenging for all of us. I tend to agree. Many people seem to have forgotten what AMP actually is and they got lost in the recent management crisis. If Synereo starts to go forward now with development, this is a world-changing project. Just remember what the thread was like a few months ago. we will go back to that frame of mind soon.

Of course, it's granted, in Bitcoin it's so easy to invest and you dont need any paperwork hassle, so investors will come when you have a good idea that can create an innovation in the world. That is how frictionless crowdfunding should work.

Why refund now when the project is just starting to get off the ground. Seriously, investors should have some patience, I believe in the next months we will see great things happen, both with the project and with the price. What kind of investors are these who don't have patience? It's like a bunch of 5 year olds are investing here, in the future of social media....

Look at ETH what kind of disaster was that, with their DAO crap. Don't you believe that Synereo deserves the funds it has, in order to build the real smart contract innovation. They need to take their time and effort in order to ensure that this is done right. We don't want failures.

I am reading between the lines and thinking that they just very recently hired new people and new work hasn't started yet.

Aside from Greg, no one from the old team has left in the past few months, and we've since hired 2 new developers, another IT guy, and will likely close with another dev in the coming week.
Work has not stopped for a second.

Have you seen any project in the space delivering on the promised timeline? There's too much uncertainty, and too many immature, moving pieces to provide an accurate estimation based on.

We're simply going to deliver working products when they are ready.

So I believe they deserve all the funds they can get, and I believe we will get an amazing ROI on it, in the future, so all patience will be rewarded in my opinion

The scam part was so big with this project. The flood of FUD is not a miracle.

I hold amp and sometimes write not a mainstream believe based on imagination and positive thinking. But one is imagination that everything is flowers  other is reality and now, at this moment. In every FUD there is some truth.

Sometimes we put everything in one basket. Fud is speculation in it self and everything is fud. People talk just positive and optimistic, someone talk negative and pessimistic other naturalistic but it is all speculative fud.

Here is another forecast of the price. This time I used a larger resolution of 30 minute data, with larger lag order to get a more accurate picture of how the price will behave.

And also the new price data overrides the old prediction, since with new data we get a totally different forecast. The old forecast predicted a radical price rising back to the 0.003 levels ,which unfortunately didn't happen, but this new forecast is not just more accurate from the previous model's forecast, but also has new fresh data for it, at a higher resolution.

I used OLS model this time since the Auto-Regression model is too hard to calculate for large lags, but the error difference is only about 2-3% at maximum, so it's still a quality forecast, with much faster calculation rate.

I have overlayed the forecasted values with the actual values that have since then have been revealed, it's astonishing how accurate I am:



Interesting, althought I have to remind people that the more in the future we go, the less accurate it becomes (standard error for each new datapoint forecasted is bigger), so we need to update the model with new price feed as frequently as possible.

This model was created more than 24 hours ago, so I will probably have to update it with new data from today, but I am not at home at the moment so I can't do it now.

you are right bro if synereo can rise this much i.e. 20k satoshis from 500 satoshi of ico price then it can also rise further and profitgenerator212 keep it up you and we all investor will see the fruits it is just a matter of time, it is just that once the alpha get's released and then it will follow soon, i also have 13k amp bought at 5.5 cent and maybe the price will hit 50 cent or even 1 dollar, anything can happen because if steem can rise so much then so can synereo it is just a matter of releasing the alpha and making some development in project is all that is needed. Their whole ICO that raised a lot of bitcoins was based on the premise that Rchain will be more advanced than the blockchains we have now. If that is not working what will they use now?

I thought about buying good amount of AMP because it could be undervalued right now. After doing a little reasearch on it I found out that their Rchain and Special K technology does not really work. Their whole ICO that raised a lot of bitcoins was based on the premise that Rchain will be more advanced than the blockchains we have now. If that is not working what will they use now?

That is why they have split I believe because I think Greg didn't delivered his promises.

Hence the price dropped, but I believe this is just a temporary setback, they'll figure it out. It's been here for 2 years, they even have the alpha version, just check the youtube channel to see.

Well there is no evidence for that, it could just have been sloppy overestimation from Greg's part. Developers always live in an idealistic world, and maybe his idealism didnt fit reality.

But I haven't invested in AMP because of the blockchain. I could care less about the blockchain. What I do care about is the social aspect of it, that is where the value relies.

A decentralized economy, built on a social media platform, all using AMP, and giving demand to AMP. Even if the data is stored on a few centralized servers, if it's cryptographically provable (their hashes is saved too to be retraceable, and immutable), then it doesnt matter. It could be done like that or with Storj, or any other way, That is not the point.


But when it will start up, and it will be a totally new experience, where people can choose what content they want to see or not, and not just that but there will be a constant demand for AMP, as being the sort of "premium currency", that will get your posts amplified.

Cant have a forecast model when factors are too limited and minuscule and individual manipulation is high. 1) The forecast ltself may become a self fulfiling forecast, or 2) whales enter and price goes to limbo. Not against what you saying / forecasting, I made $30 by entering at 5369 and exiting at 5500. But this was based on the W pattern on the 4 hours. It should soon form M.

But AMP, XPEC and Vox are looking for breakout in the coming weeks/months. Meh, not sure.

Of course it will break out and rise in price in the future. Altcoins are full of manipulation and herd mentality. Once this moves many people will make some bitcoins but many also will lose them in the process. After the pump we will all be back here hearing the complaints that their investment is losing money. I have backtested it on itself and it showed good results, but it needs frequent updating.

I did forecast successfully the price jump part from 5100 to 5600, but the model is not a God, it needs constant updating and recalculation to stay in line with the new price.

I will do another forecast soon, and see what will come up now.

I wouldn't say the older, but rather the more actively traded, but yes random walk was not optimal word.

What I meant is that predictability and probabilities of forecasting are tending toward 0 as the timeframe goes lower. the higher the timeframe the higher the predictability or forecasting capacity.

I exited 40% of investments at 5230. Holding the rest till 5390. With 40% investment profiting, my stop loss for the original investment is balanced out (zero sum) @ 7% stop loss.

Buy orders were executed at 4500 and were later sold at Appox 4750.
Buy prders were executed at 4480 and were later sold at Appox 4690.

Vox and Verti both predictions fetched good returns. The downside was a bit off, but well within the 7% Stop loss.

Outlook for AMP is downward trend till bounce. One or two players seem to be buying up dumps. Not sure if they are the same one's dumping. If the sideways continues pump will happen in a month to 2 months (if lucky).

Read the roadmap, i believe they have some temporary solutions to host the data it on CDN networks,  but the transactions will be on blockchain.

Obviously you can't store petabytes of social media data on blockchain, but it's enough if you store the hashes of the data at checkpoints.

I don't know the exact details, but it will be something like this. It will probably be a mixture of blockchain and dedicated servers.

I learnt my lesson that is not to buy anything in FOMO. I bought this AMP in July though it's a small amount day by day it is going down and down like my investment is 5 - 6 times down the price which I've bought. I won't sell these until I achieve breakeven atleast else I will hold this until it gets to zero. No point in selling now with loss.
