Hello,
I'm new to mining coins, and maybe I could get answer from more experienced miners here.
I though that all Ethash type coins should have same hash rate from same hardware/software, but I get like 20 Mh/s for ethereum and up to 37 Mh/s for Ubiq.
Anyone knows do I have problem with my mining software/hardware or is it normal?

If you are reading the hashrate from the miningpool you are using, it might take some time until it's better regulated. I use Claymore miner and ubiqpool.io and they show the following stats:
Claymore miner: ~24.5 Mh
Ubiqpool (30m): 26.67 MH
Ubiqpool (3h): 24.39 MH
So it probably needs a little time to correctly read the hashrate. I had the same 24,5 Mh with Ethereum.

Thanks for the answer.
I was telling Claymore miners stats.
Thats why I'm confused. About pools stats I uderstand that.
But now, tested with claymore, getting:
20.0 Mh for ETH,
33.7 Mh for EXP,
36.9 Mh for UBQ.
Yesterday was the same stats.
Wonder should they all differ so much...

It has to do with the size of the DAG file.

So, as the DAG file size increases you all mine slower?

I decreases the amount of usable GPU memory for calculations. I remember getting 2x the throughput on ethereum a year ago.

Understood. Thanks for the answer. I was confused, because I checked old posts, of people getting nearly 2x more hash rate from same GPU's than me, haha Smiley

Someone has been dumping a shit ton of coins onto the market since yesterday... Could be a whale accumulating or just some whale cashing out who has a huge bag to unload.

I will let my strong hands do all the work for me right now. I'm sure a lot of new investors will come looking around the corner during this dip.

Does Ubiq have the potential to take over ethereum

Assuming you're talking about market cap?

Potential, yes. Will it? You're talking about Ubiq's current market cap over x500 and thats if Ethereum stands still. Ethereum has a lot of new tokens launching on their platform and this serves to increase its price as the demand for ethereum increases. (you need ether to participate in those ICO's) Ethereum classic is seen as the closer rival to Ubiq I believe.

I'll try and summarise UBIQ for myself and other non technical noobs out there who are the majority of investors.

UBIQ

1. Launched fairly - no premining of coins. No over inflated ICO.
2. A fork of the Ethereum block chain. Ubiq offers the functionality of Ethereum in an enterprise ready, stable form with less bugs.
3. Team is great; lead by Julian Yap - very experienced in block chain working with Decred, Blocktech, and bittrex (over 100 code reviews)
4. Has already launched a couple of ICO projects on their network - Qwark and APX amongst these
5. Initial coin supply of only 36,451,770 and this will increase at a deflationary rate.

I had trouble making sense of the schedule at first but I'll give a go of explaining for my fellow noobs:

At the end of the first year, total coin supply would be 39,318,679 (increase of 2,866,909 coins or 7.29%).
After the second year, total coin supply is 41,827,225 (increase of 2,508,545 or 6%). So as you can see the rate of coin addition is decreasing.
After year 8, total coin supply is 49,362,861 (an increase of only 358,364 coins or .73%). From this point on you will see only 358,364 coins added each year and this only serves to benefit the miners as they need their rewards.
As you can see after year 12 the total coin supply is 50,786,315 (increase of 358,364 or .71%)

From my point of view and I'm sure many others will share this sentiment, Ubiq will be a great store of value due to its deflationary monetary policy. A huge deal if you are a value investor such as myself.

Two key things I look at as a long term investment are:

-High Utility
-Scarcity

Ubiq ticks both and this is why I'm a long term holder, even through this recent dump. It looks like someone has swapped out their Ubiq to jump on the bitcoin train. I believe Ubiq is extremely undervalued.

Hope this helps everyone. Correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

Does Ubiq have the potential to take over ethereum

This raises an issue I am hoping you guys maybe can help with.

Do you see UBIQ as a competitor to Ethereum or a complement to it?

At this moment it seems to it's mostly a competitor. What say you?

Competition in one respect. But also a complement. Competition is good as it drives innovation. Sometimes its easier being number 2 or 3 as you have benchmarks/standards to chase.

Imagine a world with one car company, one software company, one of everything.

In any case, as an investor it may be worth hedging by having a stake in both.

Great summary!

This is exactly how I see things. UBQ has the possibility to tackle problems like inflation by adding coins to the total supply. This is something no other coin (I heard of) can do.

If you take a look at the quantity equation (http://www.digitaleconomist.org/mvpy.html), you see that they can react to any situation on the market, to prevent it from crashing. Other coins can't do that, because they have set parameters like the total supply in stone and can't change them.

i am getting the same speed for UBIQ or Ethereum.
What is the best BAT settings to mine UBIQ?

Shouldn't it be faster since the dag file is smaller?
What is the current DAG file size?

im using claymore dual miner, in single mode.

On cards with more RAM the ethereum chain will still run at full speed. I have 3 GB cards, barely enough to run ethereum's dag. My rig is a holdover from the litecoin mining days, haha.

So what is the normal speed for RX 480 8GB on UBIQ?
I am getting 29mh on ETH.

That sounds right for both UBIQ and ETH for your cards. But it may vary. Every card will act differently, generally. Though they will fall into a range. The 480's were the replacement card for the 7950, I believe.

What is the difference between uniq and other coin like ethereum, ethereum classic etc. What sets it apart? Was thinking of investing and want to get clear picture.

- flux difficulty algorythm with advanced hash parameters for more safety
- exponentially subjective scoring is a optional opportunity to correct adverse network conditions and forks
- own monetary policy and mining block sheme
- use of 2gb graphic cards for 6 years (ethereum after 1 year only no usage)
- better holding of the blocktime
- pyrus small bugs fixed from myetherwallet fork
- own graphic interface fusion, pyrus the website and co. own name for decentralized apps (dApps)
- a cheap price and a good dev team a bit smaller circle than in eth
- apx network support token running on ubiq blockchain
- no ico and no premine (fair launch)

thats all i know Smiley
