I think because of addiction,when we started to gamble then we try and try  until it become our habit.We still hoping that maybe someday we will win.When it becomes a habit its difficult to remove.

And most people who get addicted to, those who from the beginning of gambling in a manner that is not true (the greedy and ambition). You are right that a gambling addict must remove greediness on their mind before they surpassed their addiction problem. But the main problem here is on how to do that process. It needs a professional psychiatrist to assist for the person that having problem with it because that is like a magic that can be remove in a blink of an eye. It is easy to say but very hard to apply on reality.

I treat it just the way you describe it as well however I do regularly come back. I dont see myself as getting addicted because Im not spending what I shouldnt. i have tried done it before to gamble only on the amount that i can afford to lose.

i don't think that he will come into a psychotherapy and tells that he is an addicting gamblers because its only a few people that would be brave to honest to other people especially to psychotherapy. but if there is a friend or family that he can trusted, maybe he will come into psychotherapy and he want to solve his problem in gambling.

It's because they were aiming to win, there were successful gamblers who really puts their life on gambling, and gambling as for their living.
