It could also be a part of peer pressure that you are feeling if you have lots of friends who gamble. I think there are people that try to win just because of the feeling, not the money itself. Its a cycle that is really hard to get over with. Whether you are winning or loosing, people subconsciously continue to play. It only ends once you won everything or you loose everything.

I think it's just because winning in gambling even if you know you've already lost gives you a different kind of feeling. It's mixed emotions, you fell happy, proud and nervous at the same time. I think this makes gambling exciting and fun and the reason why a lot of people gamble.
