Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Did you expect btc to go up in a straight line? Are you really surprised to see resistance around the Aug 29 high?  Should be natural and healthy.

It'll likely just be a correction on the way up. These people probably think they are selling to buy back cheaper, but they are taking a risk since we smashed through both 148.5 and 150 resistances with ease. They may very well be saying goodbye to those coins if the price consolidates here before they continue to climb.

All very nice, but people can't get fiat out of Gox so... what's the point?

They'll be able to get out multiple types of cryptocoins? If we attribute the higher prices on Gox to be a result of USD withdrawal issues, then it stands to reason that adding more altcoins will distribute the price inflation amongst them. (assuming there is a place to sell those coins for fiat).

Betteridge's law of headlines is an adage that states, "Any headline which ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no.

The reason why journalists use that style of headline is that they know the story is probably bullshit, and don’t actually have the sources and facts to back it up, but still want to run it.

The NCA said it had seized millions of pounds worth of the electronic currency. Is their address known?

Is this realy going to happen?

Do we see this:
