Hey buddy do you think I should cash out today and just walk away from this all?
Some days I just feel like cashing out and walking away from all this.
For some reason I feel this way today.

May 15 (UPI) — The Justice Department on Wednesday revealed it indicted two brothers in their twenties for a series of alleged crimes for manipulating the cryptocurrency market to steal $25 million in crypto in a 12-second period, according to reports. ...
it is from what I can gather an exchange - trader scam and has zero to do with block chain integrity.
I tried to comment this There is no mention of what their "tamper with and manipulate the protocols" was. And got the Error "Your comment failed to publish" apparently the fuckers shadow banned me. Fucking sick and tired of these Snowflake companies censoring me.

Don't do it philipma1957! That feeling only shows how close we are to reaching new levels. I almost did that the first time China banned bitcoin - luckily I was boarding a plane and only had access to what little I had on the exchange at the time. I sold it while sitting in the lounge and frantically tried to buy it back while sitting in the plane waiting for takeoff (and before I lost my connection for ~9 hours) when I realized my error. Through sheer luck I bought it all back, caught the bounce and made a few hundred bucks in extra sats but as I know now, it would have been financially devastating in the longer term to sell it all back then. Do you need all that fiat right now?

Do you need all that fiat right now? A similar thing happened to me around New Year's Day 2017. Price dumped from $1200 down to $700, can't remember exactly. But it dumped. I was staying at my cousin's house for a few days and away from PC, wanted to drive back and log-in to sell some. She saved me from selling precious corn. She's a coiner now (joined much later though)! As for Philip, old age, maybe? Don't do it man !!!

For some reason I feel this way today.
I guess the question you have to ask yourself is why you are doing this in the first place. Did you get involved to have some temporary fun, to change the world, to get rich, to be a part of something? Did you get everything out of it that you wanted to? Do you still see a path to achieving your goals? Or is this just something you do for money because you’ve been doing it so long?

Do you still see a path to achieving your goals? Or is this just something you do for money because you’ve been doing it so long? I do ask these questions quite often. With involvement of multiple partners/investors the mine got bigger than I wanted. It was hard to run and the four of us had a lot of disagreements on the direction to head the business. So the Father and son half broke off the deal with myself and my partner. Leaving me and my partner with a lot of paid off gear and not any power to run it. I have been selling it off piece by piece on ebay and other spots. I am 67 the amount of work I did from dec 2018 to may 2024 was a lot. Basically almost a full time job. I did make money coin gear etc. I have zero debt I have coins I own a home Wife and I have pensions I post on bitcointalk and altcoinstalks earning side coins I am more interested it liquidating the gear and reducing it way way way way lower. Maybe 20kwatts vs 210/220kwatts. Some days I just feel worn down from the mining experience. As for posting and shooting the shit that will not wear down I still post copiously on multiple forums and will likely do that as long as life lets me do so.

Sounds to me like you don’t need a break from Bitcoin, but a break from mining. Now probably isn’t a bad time either. I feel like you should keep selling your gear and posting to earn sats, then in a year or 16 months, spend some coin at the peak to get a little gear and get back at it to enjoy the ride downward as you build up a manageable mining operation again (if you miss it). I’ve also found that mining with GPUs as opposed to ASICs is much less stressful.
