Something interesting...MSTR is up 14% today while bitcoin is up 6.2%.
Overall, MSTR owns 15.85 bil worth of bitcoin, almost all on borrowed money (spent 9.9 bil), but has a valuation of 42.26 bil, which is 2.67X their bitcoin value.

Essentially, at the current MSTR price, it would be at NAV when btc is at $167.6K.
Therefore, does MSTR, in fact, point to a current "expectation" of the near term btc price?
Maybe, but 2.67X is somewhat crazy...maybe someone is gamma -squeezing it's stock?

Perhaps the best play would be to own bitcoin and 'short" MSTR using 2Xbearish MSTR ETF (MSTZ).
This ETF completely crated lately, perhaps indicating a bargain?
In any case, imho, it could be used for hedging your long btc position and nothing else, essentially.

Not an investment advice!

I would be very careful shorting MSTR.  I agree its overly heated up, and a short tern play might work... but when Bitcoin takes off MSTR is going with it.

Also not investment advice as I have no idea what I am talking about.

yea..., but that's not really shorting-I would never do that..it's longing an etf that would increase in price 2x of MSTR decrease..so you cannot lose more than your investment.
In 'real' shorting your loss is unlimited aka, if stock you shorted doubles, you would lose 100% of whatever you put up and the losses snowball from there.

So... if you use "social media", which as horrible as it is has also changed the world for better and worse, then you ought to look at Nostr.

It is decentralized, based on keypair cryptography (sound familiar yet?), and as it grows is likely difficult to stop.  It has an enormous amount of Brazilians using it.  I assume that could be because the creator of the protocol is Brazilian, but I also think the censorship there is another potential reason.

Nostr is NOT A PLATFORM.  It is a protocol.  Because of this it will be used for things that no one is even thinking of yet.  Entrenched platforms like YouTube will most likely pay it no attention as people build things that will compete against them on top of the protocol.

But for now it is being used mostly as a Twitter like system.  Maybe <1% of what Twitter sees.  Lol.  I suspect Elon is not worried. He will see it soon enough.

Bitcoinners are rampant. Wink  Another reason I hope others will come, but if you like echo chambers there is a little bit of that there now too.  It is at least a Bitcoin friendly place. Along with all the other sorts of kooky things bitcoinners seem to like like meat diets, and stupid kitchy things like calling each other "plebs".

But the protocol matters.

It is 2012 for NOSTR in Bitcoin terms.  You might not get rich "investing early" in NOSTR unless you are someone who understands what it actually is and work to create something useful for people atop of it.  In that case you could start the next LinkedIn (that founder is about to get swept into the Diddy fiasco... Lord...) or whatever else could run on the protocol.

Some day soon the difference between silos of information as we have today with the internet, and independent information broadcasters using relays and cryptographic proof to send information to those who are willing to receive it will yield great benefits to the quick to understand (alas... I am simply too lazy to become fabulously wealthy and powerful with the imbalance I can see here in information flow... but YOU could!  If you do please remember me for pointing the way) and that time will be here soon enough... months?  decades?  I dunno.  Who knows?

Years back I saw that keypair cryptography would change the world with simple messaging. PGP/GPG were game changers.  Later I saw it would change the world with money. (preaching to choir)  Now I see it will change the world with broadcasting information.

I have a little pile of sats i use to "zap" other users when they post something that makes me happy.  I probably won all of these in less than one pot playing penny poker against a stoner using Silk Road back in the day.

Yes... I brag.  But if you read between the lines I do not brag as much as confess my own lack of ability to see the future.  Or at least profit on it... again.

See you all later... or ping me on Nostr... I hang out there now mostly...  It's still boring now... lol.

I could also be wrong... I often am.

P.S.  Users and proponents of Nostr are all trumpeting how "YOU OWN YOUR OWN DATA".  You cannot be the product anymore like you have been with google and FB, IG, TWI... X? etc...

LOL

This is analogous to early Bitcoinniers thinking Bitcoin was private.

DYOR.  And this is not stopping it, for sure.

P.P.S.

Nostr will be captured some day... It is not as resilient as single purpose Bitcoin since it was created to be so open ended...  not sure if the creator sees this yet.  But eventually it will be cornered by powerful entities... that said it has a lot of years of bight future before then, AND even after they have captured most of it parts will always be able to re-emerge as free areas of communication.  This is it's strength ultimately.

OK... seriously... this is the last post...  Just a little appeal to authority fallacy.

But why would this guy be here?

I am going to zap him 100 sats, though... seriously does he need any more sats?  I dunno... not mine to judge, but he deserves them.

Prescience.
