People purchased based upon the expectation of the great news from coinbase. The fact that a FDIC insured and regulated exchange in the US with over 1million usable accounts to start has opened with 0 trading fees instead of 1% like before is a big deal. The fact that we will be able to use coinbase to set limit orders and trade at 0-0.25% instead of 1% is a big deal. The fact that no other exchange offers FDIC for usd balances is a big deal. |

Thought Kraken was British and not in the US. Kraken isn't US. Also that atomic trade looks like altcoin exchange and news stand in one. I.e. only their hot wallet is insured, not the client deposits. of course if your girlfriend steals your password and phone to perform 2fa and steal your BTC you won't be covered. May not even be covered under such circumstances with Fiat either.
I imagine that no insurance company would cover that kind of loss, whether for USD or for BTC. The fuzzy area may be client losses due to faulty programming on their part. |

Agree with the fee part. Never gave a shit about the gay Coinbase rocket page or their gay news. I'll probably fuck off with their exchange a little bit though... it's for sure not bad news  |
