i'd guess they'll be able to sell those shares at highly marked up prices ... some of them anyway ... unlike bitcoin , which essentially relies on word of mouth and internet forums / youtube to inform people about it and requires they discover how to put money into it , pink sheet funds are actively hocked to unsuspecting investors who have never heard of bitcoin through boiler room style brokerages ... think "wolf of wall street" (if you haven't seen the original "boiler room") ... very possible those otc bids are real and not test bids , as a result of this type of action ... what baffles me is why people don't already do this for bitcoin itself , especially considering you wouldn't need any but the most basic type of brokerage license to sell bitcoin at inflated prices to unsuspecting / uninformed people due to its outstanding legal grey status ?

Why would anyone bid $50 for one tenth of a bitcoin while bitcoin is trading at < $250 There are no shares for sale yet; the early BIT investors who can sell them must first get the proper electronic documents, and then must decide whether to offer them for sale, and sell them to some broker, who may sell to other brokers before it gets to those "level 2" brokers. Also, those bids are from the level-2 brokers, presumably largish financial companies. 100 shares at 50.00 $/share is 5000 USD. They may pay more than that for their business cards... By the way, I heard that someone invented an electronic cash protocol that, while still lacking some important features, is noteworthy because it allows instantaneous person-to-person transfers with no middlemen. Does anyone here know about it?

Level II quotes are given in lots of 100 shares. This is why you see the (100 x 1) after the bid. That bid is 10,000 shares, or 1000 btc. If you are going to offer advice and criticism, at least get the facts straight.

Very nice post but don't sleep! Watch dump! The question is: 14XX cny next 48h? Thou shalt always refer to prices in this thread in USD - the only respectable fiat. That's right, I said it!

enjoying these bears borrowing bitcoin at 0.07-0.49 (i dont get why the people borrowing my btc at 0.49% daily do not just reborrow from the market..rates are so much cheaper now...but i'm not complaining) just received 0.12 BTC for the past day While we're at it why don't the bulls and bears teach the trading game to the onlookers, so they can understand this stuff and go either way based upon the team they want to be on. Just a thought.

Yes, post an address, I'll send you some bits. It will take no time, and be just between you and me. Altogether remarkable.

Why would anyone bid $50 for one tenth of a bitcoin while bitcoin is trading at < $250 there is always a small chance that every bidder dies or get arrested for financial crimes or something, so they'll be able to get mega profit, maybe?
