Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Dropped a bit. Long interest not budged by much. Short interest up massively - borrowing rate up 7 fold so far.

Who will blink first?

I do wonder sometimes if the whole thing is a charade. If longs aren't throwing in the towel because it is a few whales who know good news is coming shortly. Retail shorting again is good for adding fire to any surge over the coming weeks. After all the price can only drop to zero, but it can move upwards much further Wink

I kept thinking similar things all day, but each time I thought it might go up it went down another step. Is there any obvious reason for this dump? There was some news about Ukraine banning bitcoin, but it's still very hazy.

Edit

This post says Ukraine is not planning to ban BTC

Correction, Ukraine has no plan to ban BTC. Its only concern is that terrorists may be using it.

The Justice Department is ordering bank employees to consider calling the cops on customers who withdraw $5,000 dollars or more, a chilling example of how the war on cash is intensifying.

Is this for real?  Shocked Shocked Shocked

What are they expected to charge them with, receiving funds from sold bitcoins? I didn't know it was a crime to sell your bitcoins. Having your account closed is bad enough without being arrested too.

Nothing. The purpose is to scare.

Don't you guys feel that all of this is just going downhill and that any kind of rebound will not come around any time soon?

I'm actually feeling very bullish for bitcoin. Short term, it's still great to trade whether trend is headed down or up. But all the big players entering the game lately is very encouraging for the long run IMO. Lot's of people see real promise and we're just building a foundation in 2014 and now. Companies are setting up their positions in the market. Remember in just 5-6 years the block reward will only be around 6 BTC. If the BIT is still around, I assure you it still wont be on the pink sheets. Buying and HODLing isn't meant to be fun or glamorous.

Same can be said the other way around, drops 10 dollars and the end of bitcoin is near.

Too late

O fuck Dogecoin. I thank it for getting awareness out there but that is about it. They were one of the most annoying community out there for the longest.

Dogecoins are fine with me. And what do you mean by their community? Doges.org?

No more or less getting it kick started on places like reddit and getting those who would have normally not been aware in cryptos interested in it. More exposer to cryptos over all is what I am getting at.

Mind you there's a *cough* rumor that the same is happening in the EU Banks... A friend of mine told me the amount was different though; 3000Eur. Well; that feels "safe"... Undecided

i found a brazillian guy masturbating once and he just stared into my eyes and carried on a conversation until i eventually left the room or picked up a book or whatever. the masturbation never stopped

You not leaving immediately is even weirder.
then he would think it affected me or that i was making a big deal of it. plus he was covered and seemed super into the conversation
