I don’t find that argument convincing as I believe Bitcoin is a Veblen good. People are attracted to it because of its stupid price.

Is anybody here still buying? Of course. If the price goes down, then buy, and if the price goes up then sell. The price has been going up and down in the past two days... so just apply the formula.

So TA wizards - are we consolidating or are we still creeping downwards?
And what’s with the ridiculous Cardano pump.

Comfortably over $10K going into 2018 I can foresee. $100,000 by the summer and $1,000,000 after the next halving in 2020 sounds totally unrealistic. I think one of the problems at this point is that even those that hold lots of cash let alone those on the breadline are totally unaware you can buy a fraction of a coin.
But I'd happily be proven wrong.
she thought that she had to buy in increments of a whole bitcoinThat's really common - at least two of my friends have said to me "oh, I can't afford to buy btc now because it's over $10,000" It's better to start off by talking about satoshis. ___ "What are those charts you're always looking at?" "I'm checking the price of satoshis." "What are satoshis?" "A satoshi is a hundred millionth of a bitcoin." "What's a bitcoin?" ___ Then they start with the idea that satoshis are the basic units. ___ "What do satoshis cost?" "You can buy a million of them for only $100." "Wow. I can afford that. I can be a satoshi millionaire for only a benjamin?" "Yep." benjamin? u mean a "brown bill"

My friend says: it´s a bubble, way to expensive. I don´t buy. And when it goes down, he says: See, i told you, it´s bursting. I don´t buy. Guess what comes out of it: He doesn´t buy, ever ! What can i do (he´s my friend) ? I´ll shake him until he comes to his senses Don´t know, what to do else.

Actually, I refer to them as "brownies". I was trying to be international. After all, this is the BTC/USD Wall Observer. I suppose if people can post about B-cash and B-gold I can mention brownies. Actually I prefer A-cash and A-gold, short for Altcoin Cash and Altcoin Gold. Neither one has anything to do with real Bitcoin, They're just trying to steal the name.

Another 4x or 10x. Talk about kicking the hornet's nest. The higher this thing climbs the more I want to go into hiding. Normals are losing their shit over this.
If you think they're losing their shit now, just wait until the halving comes... and price basically doubles within 6 months from whatever level it is at then... for what appears to be no good reason... Can you imagine bitcoin going from say $20k/btc to $40k/btc within 6-8 months? It will feel unreal. That's why people should just buy some bitcoin now, and relax for a few years while they casually buy more.

P.S.: Almost everything is a taxable event as it involves "using" the actual value of BTC which is different than when you initially acquired it. The only thing I don't agree is that "moving the coins out of coinbase" is a taxable event. That doesn't make any sense.
Where is the source for "moving coins out of Coinbase" as a taxable event? Would this mean if the coins were bought at, say, $1000 and then moved out immediately at $1000, then the gains are effectively zero? Or that I could even claim a loss if the price dropped? Would this also mean that the further gains to $10,000 are effectively tax free, because, double taxation and all?

should i buy now or wait?
The price has tanked with more than $2000+ it might drop in the $8000 range but it's better to buy now. Selling at this point is to risky. Did you bought the dip ChristiTCM?
