I know Bitmain controls a good portion of BTC mining too. At least Slush Pool 13.9% and F2Pool 11.81% keep him in check. I wonder what happened with Bitfury. That 2.78% is really paltry.

Their mining grunt is now contracted out to others in the main these days I believe. Their actual machinery could be pointing to other pools.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

In terms of absolute hashrate, 2.78% of current hashrate is still a big deal for BitFury. I guess it's hard to keep up with BITMAIN and other Chinese factories. The race has shifted from PCB design to the design of the ASIC itself to minimize its power consumption.

Holy crap. If the interest stays at that level there will be a Tsunami.
It's most likely because every news covered the fact that Bitcoin bulldozed 10k.

Where can I bet in google trends? Smiley

The number of searches is an useful indicator. It's good that google trends be in sync with price increase. The more increase in google trend in relation to the price increase the healthier/organic the growth.

While I do agree that usually is the price increase what begins first and the google trend follows... in this case the impact is being astronomical. Of course it could be because the $10000 psycological barrier being broken.

The Bitcoin price and the amount of posts in this thread are becoming too much for me.

What do you think is driving the price ?

This thread is THE REAL POWER influencing upward momentum.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

We seem to have consolidation around $11k... currently $10966USD/$13916CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Old coins are worth a total of  $12714USD/$16134CAD each (Coinmarketcap).

A couple of days at this level wouldn't hurt before heading to new ATHs. Then again, continued upward movement and a new ATH this weekend would be nice too.

At least we're still in 5 digits. If the dip from $11.4k down to $9k was the big correction we all expected after crossing the $10k barrier, we're not doing too badly.

Go Bitcoin go.

Yeah it's pretty quiet. Yawn.....

During the rally past $10k this place was so busy it was like there was a dDOS attack. You'd have to hit refresh a dozen times just to get a message that there were a dozen new posts while you were posting. By the time your post made it through, it was already obsolete.

Now there's an hour between posts? Yawn.
