Crossed $11,000 but the rate of price increase looks scary to me,it won't be a bull trap right? Lips sealed

Anyways I am in the profits nearly after a year, planned to sell some of my holding at the end of this year?

This can be a good idea?

Well, out of the 10+ year history of bitcoin all sells would be regrettable but a brief 7 week period that was higher than now, and likely not for long, so it's almost never a good plan to sell BTC..

I sold like .8 BTC @ $300 for an intercooler and gofast bits, and regret it..
I still have that car with that intercooler and every time I see it it looks like a $5,000 intercooler made in china..

Then I sold like .8 BTC @ $9,500 in 2017 when it looked like it wasn't going to break $10k for the first time, for a nice car I am still daily driving today, and I regret it..
I didn't need the nice car, it is nice but I could just still be driving my rusty Subaru and have my .8 BTC back Sad

So I would say no.. Unless you are absolutely starving to death it is basically never a good idea to sell BTC..

I am lucky to have what coin I still have and it is going to be very hard for me not to put it down on a new house/property investment, because I want a nicer house..
But I know if I sell @ $30,000 or so and it goes to $300,000 or whatever in the future I will deeply regret it for the rest of my life because this is my one and only chance to hold the best lottery tickets the world has ever seen..
If I sell their is no way I will ever be able to get them back..

I think I should suffer through my life of being half poor until the bitcoins are high enough for me to basiclly fuck off in a sailboat or something for the rest of my life, leave all the worldly BS behind, and then still only sell what I need to as I go instead of cash right out..
If I can resist buying a house.. But in the long term I don't even really want a house for anything other than rental income..

Keyword: a key. It would only take getting lucky once to get all of your money. With a wallet.dat you would need to go address by address. Who knows what those fuckers have in store when it comes to quantum computers within a couple of decades. Plus any mistakes on your part leading to key derivation exploits... yeah no thanks. Electrum seems like a bad idea for serious cold storaging.

The security of Bitcoin derives not from having many keys, but from having strong keys to begin with. The point at which randomly generated private keys become vulnerable to folk "getting lucky" we have a massive problem on our hands.

By the way, Bitcoin Core since like 0.13 I think has used deterministic wallets, so all your keys in wallet.dat are derived from a single master key now.

You can sell for good profits this year or even better profits in 2021 & beyond. It depends what your personal financial circumstances are.

Guys I have a confession to make.

It’s all my fault.

You might remember my post/hat from Dec 2017.

I promised myself I would buy myself a present at 10k

So I bought this....it arrived yesterday

Since I've been wearing it we've been moving at more than 2k a day. It's not coming off.  Grin

We'll all know the reason if BTC crashes...

I'm sleeping in it tonight  Tongue

Well I need to tell you something. I took it off.

Then we crashed 90%.

I have spent the last 18 months in inner turmoil, thinking of all the people I’d let down.

This time I give you my word at 10k it goes on, and it does not come off

It’s back on. This time for good. CCMF.

xhomerx10. If you can make me a copy for when I hopefully get my account back that would be amazing.

You put this on asap and never take it off again, please!

 Avatar-sized

P.S. Nobody blames you for the correction.
P.P.S.  Sorry DeathAngel but CCMF is critically important so I had to let realsteelboy jump the queue.  You're next!

Anybody want to help him out?  Pick one Smiley
-snip-
You are a dog-lover, aren't you? Cry

You guessed it!  I went to at an off-leash dog park in Bucuresti last year without a dog.  I petted and talked to most of them but my favourite that day was a Rhodesian Ridgeback (first time I had ever seen one irl) he was really friendly too.   I had a difficult time trying to leave the park through the gate because I had my own little pack following me around after an hour or so and they wanted to come with me.

I like cats too but I'm so allergic that just being in the vicinity of a cat owner causes me a lot of discomfort.  I feel it in my eyes first, then my sinuses/head, my skin will start to burn if I've been sweating and if I don't get away from it, my lungs react.  It sucks.  I took injections for two years which lessened the severity of my reaction but it's still something I prefer to avoid.

A, ha! That's why you put me last on the hat-making list: You're allergic to me. Tongue

While that may be true, I've been trying to find a good copy of those steampunk glasses the cat is wearing for quite some time so I could put them on a hat... while experimenting with glasses on hats, I accidentally created a hat that was JJG personified so I had to give it to him Smiley  Still searching...

Thats true, many of my friends still regret their decision even after that bitcoin made into a rich than before.

Anyway it will be for my life spending so can't hold too long but not going to sell everything only might sell around $20,000 worth of bitcoin at Dec 2019 whatever the price will be.
