This probably made the price pump up to $11,380 today since india and iran are paying 23-30% premiums on the bitcoin they are buying on over the counter.

I believe we all (ok not all, but let's say many) were that guy at some point. I know I used to be him when I first met bitcoin in 2013. Telling the exact same lines to myself: "I swear I'll leave this thing when I reach my entry price." And I did, for a long time Till the early 2017.

It was a mistake obviously. It was a mistake because he (and I) invested in something we don't know and neither spent enough time to understand it. A common mistake for many.

Now I can hodl more than 40% of my net worth in bitcoin without blinking. Some people here are even more brave and hodl 90%+ though I am not sure how healthy this is.

pretty sure most here panic sold at one point (i sure did at one point), its like a right of passage. and a good learning experience. well unless you lost big time and never recovered. hopefully not many went that far.

and those of us who holdled through 20k.. well i think we are past the panic selling stage now. we just watch and enjoy the ride now. straight down? meh, wake me if it gets interesting. straight up? the same.. wake me up if it gets interesting. meanwhile, read the WO for the real information that matters.

From now on, I will keep waiting (taking profits of rest of my bitcoin, and waiting for chances to buy back).

Unfortunately I did when I failed to buy a coin recently I have been watching for the past 6 months rise from $3.20 last weekend to $8.40 this morning.
Waiting for something to dip in price is always going end up being a complete and utter failure on your part in any case.
6 months ago it was $1.86
Just buy now or regret later.

I’ve never sold moderate to large amounts of coin before (fiat wise) so I’m a bit nervous about that in the future.
I don’t want to get caught with my pants down so I admit that last week I verified my UK bank & ID with Coinbase in preparation.

Great. By this time next year your data will be shared among all exchanges. 

yup. and thats why ive always downloaded the trade histories on exchanges ive use (even those that dont have KYC now) and included them in my taxes. just incase ((someone)) gets my entire trade history from every exchange ive used.

anyway getting KYCed now and talking to the bank(s) you use as entry exit points isnt a bad idea. im on very good terms with mine, and have never had any problem moving somewhat largish amounts through it.

That was my first thinking but I wouldn’t even know where to start.
I’m nowhere near selling anything now but I really want to be prepared this time.

I sold my BCH in late 2017. That was quite a lot of money but I transferred it into bitcoin & sold it to a few people on LBC. I don’t think I want to be selling hundreds of thousands of pounds worth on LB in this cycle.

I think LBC would still be a very good option as long as you stick with the biggest traders. I've read of others on r/bitcoinuk who sold 500 grand and more to one person in one go. It would be more sensible to break the sales up but it's likely whichever bank they go to will have kittens.

LFC, why dont you try a couple of prepaid debit cards? You send crypto and its charged with fiat.

Monthly limit is 20k usd.. more than enough for daily use.

Some cards issuers are from Gibraltar, so maybe it is good for low profile usage...

I use Wirex.
Seems to do the job but only for daily use rather than large cashouts.
I have used Kraken for sums in excess of £30k without too much trouble although KYC is required.

I see we had another AYH followed by another lovely correction/retrace... currently $11297USD/$14880CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Seems we've been doing this a lot lately. No problem. It never gets boring. Keep the slow measured steps up coming regularly without running away.

Hopefully soon they'll be ATHs and not just AYHs.
