Dunno if I agree with us being in a bubble. I haven’t seen bitcoin on mainstream news, nobody is talking about it, we’re not close to the ATH.

I’m hoping this is going to be ok.

Don't think we're even close to that level of mania we saw in 2017.  Haven't heard a peep from people not already paying attention.  This is going to be ok.

I refreshed coinmarketcap and see Bitcoin way above $13k....what the heck!!!!!

Seems cool, but it will be below $10k again, and eventually below $1k again. We probably won't ever see the price above $15k, and almost certainly it will never create new ATHs. There are too many confirmed problems with bitcoin as I have verified over the years. China, Russia, and now Facebook, make it a near certainty. Shorting is wise, but not with too much leverage because bitcoin is unstable enough that random and irrational movements can wipe you out, but the downtrend to zero is definitely still on track if you just look at the data.

Ahem...we pierced 61.8 Fib retracement, next stop 78.6%.
Not sure if to calculate from just the top ($19780) or from the prior move (1160 to 19780=18620 points).
If the latter, then it is $15795; if the former, then $15547.

Why btc is going vertical?
Two possibilities:

1. We don't know something important.
2. We are being played.

I worry about the second, hoping for the first.
This is not something usual.

i haven't been active here in months and only barely watching the crypto space - but the timing of facebook announcing libra and this spike i was really close from what i saw. i just assumed it was that.

have there been any other major news bombs this year? satoshi revealed? sha256 broken? something with quantum computing or other mining hardware news?

man i miss the mining... i wanna get back into it. only have like 50 something gigahash though... yes, giga. it's old stuff.

If you want something silent, then I suggest this (Terminus R606):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5131245.300

if you want something more-plenty of used S9 for sale on ebay, although they are getting expensive: from $150 a couple of months ago to about $400 now.
These make a lot of noise, so make sure you have an attachment and/or basement.

Who would be selling right now?

HODLers? No
Miners? No
Institutions? No

Still not as big as the 20k pump green candles..

It will be history (again) when the last pump is dwarfed on the charts (again) to where you can barely see the bump..

This is unsustainable. The price will be under $10k before the end of the year, and stay there until Libra takes over. Bitcoin is done. Short bitcoin.

Merited for making me laugh. I'm borrowing the jbreher rule.

This is insane. How many daily +20% happened in last years? Trust me not many.   When we hit $20k, then real shit will start.

ESG, KYC & AML are attack vectors on Bitcoin

Above $12k there is very little resistance to ATH and above. All the hard work has been done breaking $4k, $6k, $10k, $12k.
Which means that at this point either:
1) Moon, and then some. Or
2) This is where institutions dump on the Retail guys who are just getting brave enough to come back in after getting so badly burned in 2018.
Thoughts?

I'm sure there's gotta be some resistance somewhere along the line.

I alway thought that somewhere around $17,500 would have some resistance, when we start approaching the previous ATH... and since we are moving so fast, it seems that the resistance could come even before that.

Nonetheless, I am not going to put anything past BTC.  Certainly, our current ongoingly upwards price situation seems beyond almost any quasi-reasonable expectation.  So, yeah, a dump could come at any time, whether that dump is coming from institutions dumping on retail or anything else.. so what.. there seems little to no reason to give any shits about those kinds of conspiracy angles...  because in the end, even if some retail folks get burned, bitcoin seems to remain pretty solidly as a vehicle of the people... so in that regards, bitcoin has been open for any "people" to get in.. and sure, they would have had to have some access to information, which understandably is not available to everyone, especially people who might be less connected to internet ideas, but otherwise there has been decent access opportunities for regular peeps to buy.
