Actually, it is not the fact that he sold, it is that he sold everything (apparently re-bought 1 btc later, which should have already brought it would probably bring him back to the same 40K).
Sometimes, when you cannot handle it, sell some, like 0.1% or something to release some steam.
BTW, in a grand picture, any sell might eventually look stupid. If btc is 1mil, 33k would look like a pimple on the chart.

Not even that he sold it all but that he didn't rebuy a significant amount later...  Cool

Crypto for the Crypto Throne!

I see this as a new kind of FUD:

FUD FUD FUD FUD FUD FUD FUD FUD FUD

And i see you as a new kind of FUD  Grin

Not even like that. You're like government honeypot, you're talking like "Ah, crypto hodlers, do not do anything, hope for the best, imagine lambos, islands and your success. Everything will be fine, governments and many people which lost their jobs in 2020 are our friends". Not trustworthy  Grin (JOKE)

you're implying that even if (when?) hodlers will eventually get filthy rich they wont be able to enjoy their wealth? That somebody is going to take their coins by force? That they will be despised by the community? This is BS man.  Cool

I'm implying that "нe кaжи гoп пoки нe пepecкoчиш", in English there is no such cool cathphrase, so you should at first get in rich in fact, and only after that - celebrate. This is crypto, too many bad things can happen. Like hackers, criminals with guns and so on.

And yeah, the most dangerous part is of course leftists governments. For example: this spring they told to wear mask, and mindless horde had done it without any complains (besides i'm not covid denier). Tomorrow they will tell to the same horde that crypto hodlers is the main cause of their poverty and you will fall under 21th century witch hunt. Unlike me, because I'm prepared for any such case.

And this is was my intent to write here - be smart and ready, don't be like in this meme - ugly filthy nerds which think that this will be so easy.

Thats why they did Mt. Gox hack. To keep us Poor, to keep a few of those Honest ones poor..

Don't use centralized exchanges, that's all. If you can't - then maybe you deserve to get fucked by life again  Grin
I've lost 17 % of my deposit on Bitfinex in 2016 hack, and i never used exchanges again for even 10 % of my depo at once. Maybe this is because my IQ is 131 and i have a memory :p

Still alive, thanks so much to everyone for your replies and merits. Good advices given that will help me get through this.

You don't fully realise the seriousness of COVID-19 until you get it. I still don't actually know if what I have is COVID-19, but symptoms point to that direction... Should do a test to find out. Until now I'm confined at home with zero contact with others.

Now on day 4 from onset of symptoms. By day 5-6, and if things get serious, I should be getting shortness of breath, at which point I should be admitted to hospital. If this does not happen, then it may be possible to fight this at home on my own. I hope so.

Sounds like covid. Hate to say this, but I believe in facing reality: Make sure someone has access to your coins. Reason being I have had two people in December die of COVID. Both felt terrible, went to hospital, felt much better in 2 days, talked to me on the phone about how it really sucked, it wasn't the flu and holy fuck what a nightmare including the shits. The next morning both were dead. They go fast after getting "better".

Please take care of yourself and watch this carefully. I hate seeing people die of this completely preventable shit.

I appreciate the post, although it's scary as hell. As I said, you don't fully appreciate the seriousness of the situation until it happens to you. My advice to all is to not get close to people not wearing masks or wearing them improperly. If the situation is such that there is pressure on you to talk or interact with them, just say NO. You may be wearing your mask and everything (as I was), but the issue is not you, it's the ones you come in contact with! So, stay SAFE, take it VERY seriously, and REFUSE to get close to those without proper protection.

On topic, I see we passed the 27k € ($34k) mark, which is just AWESOME! I saw one big but very brief dip, which was quickly absorbed by the buying pressure. It seems that any corrections (big or small) are quickly counteracted by pumps that bring the price back to its "slow" upward course. If we keep going like this, $100k should easily be reached in 2021. Actually, predictions talk about as high as $400k, but for me $100k as a correction-stabilized price for 2021 is more than satisfactory. I'm sure many of us WOers' lives will change when this happens.

Onwards & upwards!

HoDL

#humbled #blessed #sickpuppy

Let me give you another anecdotal story. I got it in May, from my brother.
His wife also got it, and they both got it from a friend at a dinner party.
We all had the same symptoms, first headache and fever (28-29 degrees) for two weeks and then about a week of slow recovery and then normal recovery, somewhere in the middle we lost the sense of smell for about a week, we also had a cough but not too bad.
No one died or got seriously ill, and nobody I know have died from it. So it's not always that bad.

I took 10 000 IE of vitamin D3 and 25 mg of zink daily during my sickness and stopped taking amlodipin since there were reports of that med making it harder to breath in some cases.
I had no shortness of breath whatsoever though.
After the covid I actually felt better then before, I had had a bad cough for a long time, probably related to my arthritis, that disappeared after my covid, I also have a lot less problems with my arthritis, it's like it somehow rebooted my immune system. I did get some weird neurological  problems, for example a sensation in my left ear, like a bug was crawling in there, it's all gone now.
So, it doesn't have to be all bad, I hope you get a mild version and get better soon.

I can see $50k this year. Maybe even $100k. I can also see $1m in the not too distant future, but not this year or next.

Hm... what do you see in terms of tether and upcoming case?

I'm not sure. People have said it affects BTC, but no one is buying USDT to HODL, right? Unit of account, check. Medium of exchange, check. Store of value? I don't think so.

If you're a trader sure, why not. I got this trading bot, haven't really figured out how to use it. Presumably the best pair to try it on are those with very high liquidity, which happens to a lot of stablecoins.

Good thing there is more than one, and some of them are algorithmic, so not really need to be backed by fiat reserves. The problem sometimes is the price oracles, if they don't use enough or only have a few.

If something happens to USDT, they'll just switch to DAI or USDC or GUSD or TUSD or EURS or PAX or depending on the exchange and what they're trying to do, whatever is the fiat equivalent.

My personal stablecoin is in my sig, which you can't see in this thread, and it's not a real stablecoin by standard definition, it's just something that doesn't stray too far from whatever value it has right now.

my grandma is 93. she has been a tarot fortuneteller for more than 50 years. this morning she called me and told me bitcoin was at $34k and that it will hit 80k before a significant pull back. this is unprecedented. in all those years that i am involved in bitcoin, she never made a price prediction. and she rarely ever calls me. (by the way: she will get her covid vaccine tomorrow)

caution! i dont know if she was referring to $ or € when she talked about 80k  Cheesy

So, your grandmother is into TA.

no, she said price would "stop rising" around 80k for a while and that it would be good to take some profits there. she said it was in the cards. math and science, you know  Wink
last time i talked to her about bitcoin price was a year ago. i have no clue how and why she came up with that number.

Not only he sold at 4K, but also sold with a -10% loss I think (kinda mindrust stop loss thing). Not only that, he didn't buy any significant sum after that, may be one or two 100$ buys. Not only that, he converted his eur to usd, and after that usd/eur fell by 15%. And also he invested in monero. After that he dissapeared from this thread. In his interview in another thread he shares that he is interested in a more significant Bitcoin dump (the prices were below 20K then). Just lolz  Grin

Little fun fact, with the memes flowing (love them btw!), I haven't bought BTC except for one time in 2016, like $1000 worth. Everything after that has just come from hustling here at the forum, campaigns and whatnot.. Been selling it all the time though (even back at $750/BTC) - for good reason! Paying rent, paying bills, buying food.. All of these things proved impossible for me to do and I had to spend what I earned. Been one hell of a ride though and at least looking back 20 years from now I can say "I was there". Don't get me wrong though, still trying to stack sats here and there and whenever we do moon it usually means I can earn more as activity spikes and everyone needs marketing  Grin

Not that anybody asked but I'm sharing anyways so deal with it! (I love you WO)

If you don't like taxes you should indeed move, to a country with bad roads, a bad justice system and bad healthcare. Good luck with that.

I tried to live in a place with no taxes and they tried to kill me for it.

No roads, no justice system, no healthcare.

It was wonderful.

Gosh, you are right... I almost forgot about all the subsequent missteps... It's like he got trapped into an infinite mindrusting loop.
