When I was a schoolboy in the 1950s, they taught us not to believe everything we read in the newspapers. We later extrapolated that to include radio and television. Now of course we have to include the internet.

In fact the internet is worst of all because of social media. Any attention-seeking idiot can post anything and some sucker will believe it.

I can pretty much guarantee you that both the Gold and Silver price will be much lower in 4-5 years. And premiums will be extremely low.

It's been a while since I've used localbitcoins but I just noticed that they no longer have the option of cash in person. That's one of the best uses of Bitcoin in my opinion. Go to another country, have someone from localbitcoins meet you at your hotel when you arrive with a stack of local currency to use during your visit.

Taking away uses for our money is not the right direction for the technology.

Not sure which country you're talking about but in Brussels region (and neighbour countries) this was already virtually impossible as soon as the government realized this could be an interesting way of converting cash into something nontaxable. Once it was they made it taxable, it was becoming risky, from the side of the government as well as from the side of the possible - total stranger - buyer/seller...

There should still be some sort of way to arrange for BTC - CASH in-person ... maybe you just need to meet up and get contact info. However, this might open up problems or abuses / crime ...

When hotwheels was still in the Philippines, I helped him exchange BTC for PHP (Philippine Pesos). I actually had to do it through our local exchange and met up with him at some mall.
