Apparently they're in AR/gaming or something like that. They used their corn as a treasury item, not for third party investment. Still, they should have known better than getting into something you don't understand the fundamentals of.

Thank you for that information.

Seriously though, how did this event even became newsworthy?

100 something bitcoins. Wtf?

The company put out a news release via Reuters on Dec.29 announcing their intention to buy $4M BTC and another one on Jan 4th to confirm the purchase.  They made an announcement on their site about the sale but I have NFI what "sand books" would be.  Probably some type of augmented reality wish book.

Yeahh.. when you start whining like a little girl, then likely we are going to be pretty damned close to the bottom...  Are you preparing to whine at about $26k and then your voice will get progressively higher in such a way that we start to wonder if you might gonna rage quit.. even though historically you seem to have mostly just gone off and pouted for a while..

Surely a pattern, and nice that you have some self-acknowledgement in that direction.

Donald Trump of WO thread Grin Cheesy

Hardly.

For sure, you are going to understand what's up, since you registered your forum account about a month ago, no?

It appears that you neither understand Donald Trump nor me with that kind of nonsensical assertion..  and perhaps you do not understand the WO thread either....  but believe what you would like in your lil fantastical thinkenings.    Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The MSM right on time with the Bitcoin negative news. CNBC makes sure it's at the top of the home page these days.  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin briefly tumbles below $30,000, falling 12% so far this week
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/01/21/bitcoin-drops-below-30000.html

Quote
"However, Biden’s choice of Treasury Secretary, former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen, is a crypto skeptic who warned earlier this week that the government may need to “curtail” the use of virtual currencies to prevent illicit activity."

TL/DR Message: Dammit Average Joe, why do you care so much? Stay the fk away from Bitcoin! Janet Yellowstain is gonna smash it!

Sorry, but we need sooner or later also the money of the average Joe. He buys currently gold and silver and stocks. But we also need him to sell all his gold, silver and stocks to buy bitcoins. We need to educate the average joe.

I don't recognize any kind of obligation of BTC HODLers to educate average Joes.  Sure, we have been doing it for years, but they can fuck off if they cannot figure out the matter and attempt to put some effort into getting some kind of stake in BTC.

Yeah, we do seem to have a kind of problematic situation in which BIG ASS players are ongoingly scooping up current BTC supply and also any of the coins that the average joes are willing to sell (if they have coins).

So, yeah, if you average joes don't figure out what the fuck is going on in terms of what seems to be one of the largest transfers of wealth that has ever taken place, then that is on such average joes to continue to be deluded by bullshit and failing/refusing to identify bitcoin as a solid investment including figuring out some reasonable way to begin to build some kind of a stake in it and maybe to continue to attempt to acquire space on the limited supply of King Daddy.

If you want to go out and attempt to educate average joes, then that is on you.. and sure some of them are going to figure it out in the coming years, even though they would have been more advantaged to figure out the matter now, rather than in the coming years.  There is plenty of good information out there for the average joe to study (way more than there was in 2013 and 2014 and even subsequent years, so the availability of good bitcoin information continues to build, over the years, that's for sure)... and hopefully not get distracted into shitcoins along the way.

I've watched a few videos on youtube where Michael Saylor was a guest, each one about an hour long. He makes a lot of sense and explains in plain english what it means to him.

Considering he started learning it all just last year, in 2020, he's not bad at all. Dude is MIT graduate I think. Rocket Scientist or something.

it is encouraging to see how fast an open, smart mind can go down the bitcoin rabbit hole.
now compare that to those who should professionally be open minded in such a way that they could at least comprehend bitcoin and write about it to their readers: the journalists.

them failing miserably for almost a decade.  Tongue

Correction, he knew about bitcoin in 2013, but turned around in 2020 and is now our favorite CEO whale.
Due to a big pump in the Bitcoin price in last few months. Many peoples become interested in and investing in Bitcoin. I think blockchain technology is our up coming future. People who did't like it a while ago are now investing in it.

Who gives any shits about such an amorphous concept as "blockchain technology" - except perhaps some shitcoin pumpener who may well be attempting to extract value from bitcoiners by misleading regular peeps into such nonsense talking points.

Seems to me that you need to get a grip, Rehan Zakir, because this happens to be a bitcoin thread, and not too many of us (royal we, of course) are tolerant of shitcoin talking points being propagated herein.

Friday was strong trading day as Bitcoin gained 8.5%. Today my 4 hr chart is showing sideways movement though RSI is showing upward Trend. Price is likely to remain Range bound.

That's like a 4 or 5 percent profit.  Wow beta, much cucks.

Note the final sentence "move to cash as this story is unfolding" (unfodling?)
which implies they might buy back.  But exiting the market is still not the smartest move.

Shitcoins are at it again.

I guess now that bitcoin is dead and there are massive bugs in the code, it is time for all the institutions to divest and inject it into the one true coin.... Chainlink, or perhaps "insert random shitcoin name".

lololol, shitcoins. Some real long-term potential right there.

This is not unusual or a big thing. Saying it was on "two chains" is invalid as there is only one real chain.

It was technically a "block reorganization". Happens all the time. This one was just more significant than all the others, and people ran with the FUD over a trivial number of satoshi.

Everything is retarded.

Everything is frightened.

People are just too frightened all the time. You don't need much to make a significant amount of them panic.
Consider, this is happening in times of unprecedented security. Life was never as safe as today (confirmed by science and math).
I guess the media and politics with their ongoing FUD are teaching people to be scared, and that makes them so easy to be manipulated. Kids are growing up overprotected, and so on.
If you want the crowd to choose A, just make them fear B (and C...).

If you want to escape this, you need to focus on calming down, for quite a while.

bitcoin is the first global 24/7 market that everyone and their grandma can participate in without permission. almost all bitcoiners are able to sell all or at least some of their stack with a stroke of a key. in contrast to almost all other financial products, where brokers, opening hours and other reasons create a friction that does not allow anyone to play nervously around with live changing amounts of money.
this makes bitcoin, this unique global 24/7 market, structurally susceptible to media campaigns, FUD campaigns, online marketing spin doctors.
as long as the mindset of "buy&sell" smart, of "it can go to zero, so always be aware and have your sell trigger ready and alert" persists, FUD induced selling will be a thing.

there are CEO's of IT related companies who panic sell their btc stash at the local bottom because they hear "double spend OMG!!1!!!"

try inserting FUD about van Goghs paintings and see how many art collectors will panic sell their van Goghs. not a single one. tell weak hand bitcoiners that china will use the bitcoin kill switch tomorrow and you will have some that are happy to panic sell their entire stash within a few minutes. because it is possible. because bitcoin works so frictionless.
this is also one of the reasons for the high volatility.
