Finally moved my stash to a Blockstream Jade from my Ledger Nano S. I had made sure that all my backups etc worked before hand but it is still nerve wracking sending all your wealth around and trusting that it all works as intended. I feel relieved although I probably picked the worst time to move bitcoin around due to the current fees. Oh well all done now.
How do you like your Jade HW? I am interested to take a look at other HWs vs. Trezor (Model T which I like, but...). The new Passport HW also looks interesting as it works with QR codes. Personally I think the Jade is, in some ways, the best hardware signer available. -Can store a seed using a unique security model that does not need a proprietary secure chip -Can do the above with you running your own blind oracle. -100% FOSS Hard and Soft (You can build your own out of commodity hardware) -Works with Liquid (could be useful some day ) -Can also be stateless like the Seedsigner (also a GREAT hardware signer) -Small -Has a battery -Has a camera -Full HWI support (works with all the great SW wallets) -Also a good official wallet (green) -Can sign fully airgapped via QR codes. -edit- So you know my account was not hacked by Blockstream... I also would love to see a Monero FW developed for the Jade. -edit#2- Also unlike other fine maxi wallets it really IS open source and the company is not run by elitist jerks... I don't know, why any hardware wallet should be better then a paper wallet? I generated a bunch of paper wallets using bitaddress.org (offline) and I store them in a secure way, and I feel more secure than ever. I would never see as safe with an hardware wallet of any sort, the only safe thing of an hardware wallet is the paper backup imho

Wow, great comments re Jade, thanks. It looks good, probably worth an experimental buy soon. I do have their Green wallet on my PC. I have been pretty happy with my Trezor T and BitBox 02, but I really like the idea of being able to transfer BTC by QR codes. I agree re Liquid maybe being a good idea, especially if/when mining fees go up again. Nice remark about Jade being truly open-source and them not being elitist jerks, I have read that Adam Back has been a true pioneer in cryptography for many years.

A Hardware signer is not in ANY way better than a paper wallet. In the same way an AR-15 is no better than a shotgun. Or a bulldozer is no better than a Mustang. Rather, a hardware signer is an extension of a cold storage wallet.

Trezors are great... so is the Bitbox, and Ledgers and so on each in their own way. I own a LOT of hardware wallets. Even a KeepKey which is a fork of the Trezor. Still the Jade is my fav (I have three Jades, lol) As to Adam Back... what you have read is true. Some people think he is even Satoshi (I do not really... buuuut.. maybe?). But one thing is for sure. His name appears in the Bitcoin Whitepaper!

Stocks shooting up today along with Bitcoin. Looks like investors are expecting and end of the year rally and positioning themselves to benefit from it. Tech stocks seem to be doing rather well, so it wouldn’t be crazy to think Bitcoin could continue its rally for a bit longer. As ETF approvals near it will be interesting to see if it’s a buy the rumor sell the news situation or not.
Zweig Breadth Thrust (ZBT) indicator was triggered on S&P, according to this stocks should continue going up for a while. IMHO I’m not familiar with that indicator. Care to elaborate and save me the Google search? I’m not 100% clear why the market suddenly decided to rally. I’m guessing the bond market signaling that rate cuts are in the future and not increases is the culprit. Pretty much everyone can see the global economy is in shambles and are expecting stimulus soon. Dangerous game when the government is pushing for a recession.

Jade looks like a good candidate for being the wallet to replace my ledger(s).
I transferred all my coin off that Ledger piece of shit to securelystoremycoins.com. It was so easy to send them my stash. Thank you bitcoin blockchain technology! They are based out of the Cayman Islands so I don't have to pay tax. The nice lady on the phone said that I can trust them... GO BITCOIN
