the unsolvable problem is my bro in laws dementia.

a lot of work for me and so many issues I could write a book about.

the maybe solvable I hope for a plan this wednesday. It is a personal health issue.

The pleasure of being 67 and everything feels okay but the tests are ugh.

and family history is ugh.

that sucks hard.  i know people that did everything right health wise and something random comes up and gets them.

i treated my body like a garbage can.. broken bones, broken brain cells. and im doing better than some good people and i had to witness their decline. its not fun especially when its family.

i hope you find a good solution.

I have some old problems that I can’t solve. I have new problems that are worse that I may not be able to solve but maybe I can.

I will know more about my new problems on wednesday. Hoping they have a path to solution.

I also have friends who lived their entire lives like saints, and are now suffering in hospitals. One was on dialysis for years and is now living with a kidney transplant. Never drank alcohol in his life, never smoked, ate well, was never fat, never done anything excessive.

Got to enjoy life as fully as you can (even with a few broken bones, and a few burnt brain cells), but know when to ease off the pedal.

It's a balance. Like a guitar string. Too tight, it will break -- too loose, it won't play.

All the very best to Phil. And to all: enjoy your coins before you won't be able to!

Damon Knight's story is a classic! I didn't know it had been featured in The Twilight Zone.

From the linked Wikipedia page, I learned it won the Retro Hugo award in 2001. Well deserved IMHO.

Guys, when pasting links from Wikipedia, always enclose the link with [url] tags using the toolbar icon. Otherwise, the links may not work (those ending with a closing parenthesis).

Phil did this too, with USS Dixie, a few pages back...

FTFY (in the quoted link).
