11 inches powder but at the end switched to sleet .
fortunately i shoveled most of it as powder.
then the snow plow came by buried the driveway exit with a 3 foot by 3 foot pile which got slicked down by the sleet and was a mofo to do.
of course i was not able to fix the snow blower so old school shovels ugg.
18+ inches here. so far i have managed to get stuck the following stuff in or just off my ~150 foot driveway: a 4x4 quad, a 4x4 jeep cherokee and a 4x4 1/2 ton pickup. there is forth jeep, not technically stuck only because i havent tried to move it yet. we are retired, they are all in my drive way and property and if needed have folks who could get us up to somewhere if needed. so no biggie really. just gonna be one big snow day having fun playing musical recovery vehicles. beats working for a living any day. EDIT: oh congrats phil on the bday!

and theresn the 1/3 didnt vote. and that third are fucking idiots. you vote. period.
If you vote 2 things happen: 1. You help legitimize the political system through increasing turnout rates 2. You are responsible for the actions of the politicians who's right to rule you helped legitimize As such I have never voted and consider those that do within an unacceptable political system retarded. Edit: You can't vote what the government should do or not. Major flaw.
Direct democracy is what you are looking for. The only place that gets close to that is Switzerland. It`s maybe the one most heated discussion in the Libertarian camp: Vote or do not vote. If you are pro direct democracy, you may come to the question (among others) of who is/will be allowed to vote in the first place. AFAIR, the US used to have a system in which the right to vote was tied to owning land, i. e. real skin in the game. If you go with "one man, one vote", you will have a sizeable amount of the population just running with the herd, i. e. msm-fed narratives. And even with a larger number of people opposed to msm, out comes a supposed rogue candidate like now as president. Who also does not really touch the foundations of the current system, apart from some DOGE-entrée. Systems do grow so big and vast and get so well established that their main purpose becomes self-preservation first and foremost. So what does voting actually change? Clinton ran on "change", Obama ran on "change", etc. etc. Some may say that`s where the right to secession comes into play. However, imo there is still no viable, tried and true example of a superior private society around. The current private cities/areas are all completely depending on the goodwill of at least one state government they signed contracts with. Also, how will those areas/societies turn out? - Massive economic success through max emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation, supported by a strong societal foundation of likely-minded individuals? - A conglomerate of "castles" with max individualism and "every man for himself", where everybody else is a potential threat first and foremost? - Another failed state/area, where warlords command their mercenaries and collect "protection fees"? Power vacuums tend to get filled quickly.

Fully agree. I always argued for making taxes more voluntary and weighing votes by the amount of taxes paid. Who pays should decide. Even better is splitting everything up with their own voluntary tax allocation with voting weighing being based on how much tax you paid towards that specific issue/topic etc.

EDIT: oh congrats phil on the bday! Over 2ft here (for some reason my area gets higher than the surrounding counties) , went out 3 times during the day to shovel and had studs put on the tires last week but have yet to dig out vehicles. Looks nice out the windows, something that would have been cool for Christmas.

whether that guy was a Nazi or not he has been dismissed. so a minor victory.
My position is sanctuary states like old school salvery are not legal and that Trump should go directly at the leaders that passed those laws and orders.
Until he does that Ice does not belong in any sanctuary state and must only go to none sanctuary states.
such as Texas or Arizona .
As in theory the illegals have zero right there give to them by the non sanctuary states.
I think every sanctuary state should be saying start with Texas and the list of all non sanctuary states and at the same time try each and every governor of a sanctuary state.
That would be quite a bit more legal than the crap in Minnesota.
Alabama Alaska Alaska Arizona Arizona Arkansas Arkansas Delaware Delaware Florida Florida Georgia Georgia Hawaii Hawaii Idaho Idaho Indiana Indiana Iowa Iowa Kansas Kansas Kentucky Kentucky Louisiana Louisiana Maine Maine Maryland Maryland Michigan Michigan Minnesota Minnesota Mississippi Mississippi Missouri Missouri Montana Montana Nebraska Nebraska Nevada Nevada New Hampshire New Hampshire New Mexico Flag New Mexico No North Carolina Flag North Carolina No Ohio Flag Ohio No Oklahoma Flag Oklahoma No Pennsylvania Pennsylvania South Carolina South Carolina South Dakota South Dakota Tennessee Tennessee Texas Texas Virginia Virginia West Virginia West Virginia Wisconsin Wisconsin Wyoming Wyoming
It is possible for a non-sanctuary state to contain sanctuary cities. For example, Alexandria, VA; Memphis, TN; Pittsburgh, PA; and Raleigh, NC are all considered sanctuary cities despite the fact that the states in which they are located are not sanctuary states. New Mexico and Rhode Island are considered sanctuary states by some sources and not by others. They are included here because both have legally declared the state will not honor an ICE detention request without an accompanying warrant. Data shown may change at any time and should not be considered legally authoritative. Potentially impacted parties are encouraged to confirm sanctuary status with local authorities. The term “sanctuary state” is a phrase that takes on different meanings in politically-charged conversations. Members of the Republican party see sanctuary states or sanctuary cities as places where illegal immigrants are protected. On the other hand, the Democratic view of sanctuary states are areas where illegal immigrants are protected from aggressive attempts of deportation.
In general, the term sanctuary state means a state that limits its cooperation with federal immigration enforcement agents as much as possible to protect illegal immigrants that have come to this country to make a living. While some illegal immigrants are protected, those that commit serious crimes are turned over to authorities. Some proponents of sanctuary states and cities believe that the term is misleading, which is why some use the term “safe” to replace sanctuary.
Whether you agree with it or not, the fact remains that there are sanctuary cities and sanctuary states in the United States. This has come to light in recent years, as President Donald Trump has aggressively pushed for the removal of all illegal immigrants. As of early 2019, there are seven sanctuary states, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. Those states are: California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Oregon, and Vermont.

I think one issue is sanctuary state has become too broad of a term. States that enforce "state and local law enforcement cannot be commandeered for federal law enforcement." in a broad sense are being labeled sanctuary because they refuse to bend over for the Fed. Be careful of the cunts labels or you might get another patriot act that strips your patriotic rights way.
