I shall be posting from The Maldives next week, thanks Bitcoin.
Was in the Maldives last year. You will absolutely love the bounty paradise destination. My advice is to pay attention preventing getting sunburned. Sunpower is exceptionally strong due to its location on the equator. Use a lot of sunscreen and wear a t-shirt during snokeling otherwise your back will turn into red lobster that will screw your holiday enjoyment.

It is, but it is not as helpful as it could be. Powell is really doing things wrong as rates are unnecessarily high, but I guess the unknown for this meeting is his speech after. If he provides a bullish view moving forward I think that is not priced in since there is only certainty about the rates staying the same.

Too much happening IRL, can't keep up, skimming through the posts...
Destroyed a $1500 phone today. A good lesson not to get too attached to gadgets. Fuck it, will get another one (with fiat, won't be touching my BTC!).
🎂 Happy Birthday, Phil! 🎂
Keep enjoying life, stacking sats, having fun!
Tell me more. 1500 dollar android or iPhone? How did you break it? Android, foldable. Slipped from a jacket pocket (my mistake), fell hard onto a granite floor. Minor outside damage, but the thing just died inside! Will attempt a repair tomorrow, but these things are so non-repairable ... all glued together. If I'm lucky, a cable ribbon clip may have just been dislodged, but I doubt it will be that simple. Yeah I use cheap androids due to fear of breakage. A54 it think 200 on a black friday A54, isn't that the one that has the fingerprint reader in the screen? That one's solid little phone. it is a good phone and I do not use the fingerprint option I use a pin to get in.

whether that guy was a Nazi or not he has been dismissed. so a minor victory. ~snip~
He was just the executor of orders and the least problem in the whole situation. Whoever replaces him will have to carry out the same orders, which means he will be just as hated as his predecessor.

I'm planning to buy myself a foldable soon, just waiting for Oppo to introduce its new model in the next month. It is supposed to be even better than its predecessor, the N5. The only problem is that it probably won't be sold in the EU and the US, and importing from China means paying very expensive VAT and customs, which means at least a 35-50% higher price.

If you are pro direct democracy, you may come to the question (among others) of who is/will be allowed to vote in the first place. AFAIR, the US used to have a system in which the right to vote was tied to owning land, i. e. real skin in the game. If you go with "one man, one vote", you will have a sizeable amount of the population just running with the herd, i. e. msm-fed narratives. And even with a larger number of people opposed to msm, out comes a supposed rogue candidate like now as president. Who also does not really touch the foundations of the current system, apart from some DOGE-entrée.
Fully agree. I always argued for making taxes more voluntary and weighing votes by the amount of taxes paid. Who pays should decide. Even better is splitting everything up with their own voluntary tax allocation with voting weighing being based on how much tax you paid towards that specific issue/topic etc. I get your point. Honestly, I find it kinda hard to put "taxes" and "voluntary" together. Imo, the very nature of taxes is that they are taken by force, or at least the threat thereof. Otherwise, they would be donations. Governments do have public bank accounts for donations btw, and some people are actually giving them money voluntarily - on top of paying their taxes. Weighing votes by taxes paid is an interesting concept. That would require recalculating the electorate on a regular basis, basically every single year at least. If taxes paid came anywhere near the ratio of wealth distribution the top 5 - 10% would basically decide the outcome of any given election, imo. On the other hand, if only the middle/middle-upper class and below pay taxes and everyone above is so far sucessfully minimizing/avoiding, it would be a totally different ballgame. Now imagine combining that with minimal admin overhead.

They're all foldable imo; some just don't return to the unfolded state as well as others. Bigger pockets would be cheaper and more fashionable.

I have 5 cell phone numbers.
Complex to the why of that.
But I need a different cell for each mine I was managing .
SO that's 3 then 1 for my wife and 1 for me.
When I folded the mining I could have closed them.
But I kept 1 for my hosted mine 1 FOR Google auth 1 for my bro in law.
I REALLY don't like phones for the security risks they pose.
