Invent studs that soften with the temperature and you'll be a billionaire in the stud industry!   Not a bad legacy...

Long threads like this are hard to follow, but can I ask - what is keeping the price at $90k for weeks?

That is 100k sats...   We did not bet in dollars.

Tired of buddy.

But maybe the truth is buddy is tired of us and  btc in  general

That is not true.

You are spreading rumors.

Buddy loves us - especially after he came back.. he feels a lot better these days now that he has a home, a job and a not always so loving relationship.

- A conglomerate of "castles" with max individualism and "every man for himself", where everybody else is a potential threat first and foremost?
This is effectively the founding philosophy myth of the US of A, eH? Election outcomes were and still are bought and paid for- as are the police forces hired to neutralize threats to people and property. There is a sort of direct puppet democracy for large financial concerns or those that wield them, many state-funded with imaginary money, of course!

- Another failed state/area, where warlords command their mercenaries and collect "protection fees"?
There's a boring ass academic treatise on this by Nozick that's probably not worth re-skimming/reading

The most recent episode has one of my favorite curmudgeons, Dave Collum.

He is pretty good at seeing future trends, but he's also kind of a reluctant long-time no-coiner.  For at least a decade, he's been making the argument that Bitcoin will be forced to go the way of gold. In other words, paperized by the institutions and then diluted into oblivion, although we're kind of seeing how that's working out for gold.

He also spent some time talking fourth turning type stuff, and anyway, it's a pretty interesting episode so far. I'm not that far into it, but I think some of you might like it.

https://youtu.be/lTEtbTl_hEc

Thanks, always enjoy Collum/YIR but don't usually listen to this podcast.

Collum never seems to opine directly about bitcoin anywhere except to say that he hasn't bought any but might if it "survives" a broad market crash: and it's challenging to think he doesn't understand that for investable purposes, the key difference from his baby, gold- aside from digital versus natural scarcity- is that gold has been completely state-captured for millennia while bitcoin is not [yet]. It comes down to talking his book (or coin sack or Scrooge vault?) I suppose.

-money flowing to gold(5500~*6200), silver(117) and oil (BCO 68),
according to some jewelers I follow, it is increasingly unfeasible to make jewelry with gold,
and silver replacing gold in jewelry making is already a fact,
chips need gold, silver, copper and there are no substitutes,
after August 2026 the money flows back in bitcoin.

Glad you came to lick your boob here for a moment, Vod.

You know, there's a lot of theories out there about the price.  The most prominent are

- institutional shenanigans has basically invented paper bitcoin one way or another and we're seeing a lot of short-selling basically.
- There's a lot of OG selling going on.
- bitcoin is still considered a techstock by unsavvy people, so they are filling up on gold and silver as the tangible value stores and Bitcoin will follow.

So to sum it all up, your guess is as good as ours. There are other people here that might have more solid opinions, but how about you? What do you think's doing it?

BTW:

Quote
A new class-action lawsuit accuses Meta Platforms of misleading billions of WhatsApp users by claiming their messages are protected by unbreakable end-to-end encryption.

Filed in the San Francisco federal court, the suit alleges the company secretly stores, analyzes, and grants employee access to chat contents via internal tools.

Plaintiffs from Australia, Brazil, India, Mexico, and South Africa represent over 2 billion WhatsApp users across 180 countries, seeking unspecified damages for privacy fraud.

https://cybersecuritynews.com/whatsapp-lawsuit/

-This law is for them to get data on who they need....
if Meta has this data (and it does),
then these governments also want to have access to it....

"The United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
has opened an internal investigation following the disclosure that its acting director,
Madhu Gottumukkala, sent sensitive government documents to ChatGPT.
The information was published by the website Politico on Tuesday (27),
based on reports from authorities involved in the case."

Trump’s acting cyber chief uploaded sensitive files into a public version of ChatGPT

The interim director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency triggered an internal cybersecurity warning with the uploads — and a DHS-level damage assessment.
...
Other AI tools now approved for use by DHS employees — such as DHS’s
self-built AI-powered chatbot, DHSChat — are configured to prevent queries
or documents input into them from leaving federal networks.

Gottumukkala “forced CISA’s hand into making them give him ChatGPT, and then
he abused it,” said the first official.
At least six career staff were placed on leave this summer after Gottumukkala failed
a counterintelligence polygraph exam that he pushed to take, as POLITICO first reported.
DHS has called the polygraph “unsanctioned.” Asked during Congressional testimony
last week if he was “aware” of the failed test, Gottumukkala twice told
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) that he did not “accept the premise of that
 characterization.”

AI Use by CISA Chief Alarms Cyber Officials

CISA Defends Director’s Use of AI Tool Despite Internal Compliance Review

The acting chief of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency's use of
ChatGPT to upload "for official use only" documents has reignited concerns among public
sector cybersecurity veterans over artificial intelligence governance and leadership
judgement at the nation's cyber defense agency.

The activity involved CISA Acting Director Madhu Gottumukkala and occurred in mid-2025,
according to people familiar with the matter. While the materials were not classified,
they were restricted from public dissemination and were uploaded into a
public instance of ChatGPT, triggering internal alerts.
The incident was first reported by Politico.

I shall be posting from The Maldives next week, thanks Bitcoin.

Have a good time on the beautiful beaches, LFC_Bitcoin!

Was in the Maldives last year. You will absolutely love the bounty paradise destination.

My advice is to pay attention preventing getting sunburned.

Sunpower is exceptionally strong due to its location on the equator.

Use a lot of sunscreen and wear a t-shirt during snokeling otherwise your back will turn into red lobster that will screw your holiday enjoyment.

What season would you recommend going to Maldives?

For best weather is between December and April, when it’s dry, calm water, sunny and warm but it will cost you more money.

Rainy season is from May to November. More showers of rain, still warm and sunny. Underwater visibiliy is not that great for divers.

If you are on a budged September and October are the wettest months.
The world is really a wonderful place, in my country from October to December is usually the dry harmattan season, the weather by this period is always cold and dry, you see the grasses and leaf's weather away. However from May to August is usually raining season, but for some us that stay close to the tropical rainforest, it rains almost till September, sometimes the rains doesn't stop even when we predict to be the end of the raining season.
